Republicans from Lincoln to Reagan have belived in free labor and free opportunity. Democrats from Jefferson Davis To Sharpton have believed in division for the benefit of the non-productive. But that doesn't stop leftist conventional thought from trying to turn Lincoln into some sort of 19th century FDR.

I wouldn’t be surprised if “Spielberg drops” isn’t an apt mental image for these films.

Good casting. She’ll fill the role of a mentally deranged woman perfectly. Mary Todd Lincoln was not a very attractive woman either.

Maybe they’ll try to associate Lincoln’s suspension of the right of habeus corpus with Bush’s Patriot Act.

Sally Field is still cute for her age, but like most in Hollywood is not playing with a full one.
To: Colonel Kangaroo
Physically, she’s too pretty to play Mary Lincoln.
Mentally, of course, she fits the role like a glove.

Actually, Sally Field has some of the facial structure of Mrs. Lincoln. I would think they would be able to make her up to play the role quite well.

So, a bunch of hard core lefties are making a Lincoln movie based on a book written by a hard core lefty plagerist. I’ll pass.

What a shame. I thought they would have gone with Holly hunter in that role, since she and liam neeson read the letters of Lincoln and Mary together sometime ago on Cspan. They were absolutely superb.

Ah, well that means we can look forward to the American Civil War being blamed on a Jewish-Israeli conspiracy.

Lincoln was one of the sorriest Presidents in American History. (If not the sorriest).

Interesting comparison of the two women in their youth:

With the magic that Hollywood can work, I would say that this one would be a piece of cake.

Maybe theyll try to associate Lincolns suspension of the right of habeus corpus with Bushs Patriot Act.Only if they can tie in the fiction of Lincoln being homosexual.

Lincoln suspended Habeas Corpus for civilians, declared war without congressional consent, and issued a warrant for the arrest of the Chief Justice. But you will never hear about that in a history book.
