DURHAM, N.C. — Duke University President Richard Brodhead apologized Saturday for not better supporting the men's lacrosse players falsely accused in last year's highly publicized rape scandal. "Given the complexities of this case, getting the communication right would never have been easy," Brodhead said. "But the fact is that we did not get it right, causing the families to feel abandoned when they were most in need of support. This was a mistake. I take responsibility for it and I apologize for it."

It was not a problem of “communication.” It was a problem of pre-judging in the worst way, assuming that because the coach and players were white, and the real culprit black, the former were naturally guilty. It’s too bad the settlement he reached with the players and the coach didn’t include individual public apologies and resignations by all 88 moronic faculty members who sided with the slut.
Too little, too late, who the F cares? This liberal scum bucket needs to crawl on his hands and knees and beg these young men’s forgiveness. They should then spit on him. He is scum. He and his bunch of so called teachers (teachers my ass)who lined up to pile on these guys.

The Duke Lacrosse team fit the Liberal template; a bunch of spoiled, bigoted, homophobic rich white boys, exploiters of the Proletariat, who were getting exactly what they had coming.
Let’s see. How does this work now? You go around to ten or so venues, prostrating yourself contritely before an unforgiving host who batters you with a wealth of hostile questions, inferences, and humiliating accusations. Then you get drummed out of polite society. Yeah – that’s how your cozy little Liberal Community does it. Pack your bags, President Brodhead, and hit the exile gauntlet. You can resign when you get back.

Wouldn’t accept his weasel words of an apology. A more accurate statement:
Due to the extraordinary cowardice and total lack of person and professional integrity of those of us whose first and only consideration is political correctness, and how other similarly politically correct people think of us, it was impossible for low-lifes such as us to even consider the possibility that three privileged white boys could be telling the truth, and that a minority woman might make false accusations (and everyone still knows no woman would make such false accusations, our PC feminist sisters have told us that for years), so I’m sure you understand (yes we do!), but since my job might still be in some jeopardy, I apologize if my actions were perceived by some to have caused them pain.
Every time I see “Brodhead,” I think “Dickhead.”
I have been following this case from the get-go. It didn’t pass the smell test from day one.
I am re-reading “Until Proven Innocent.” They should make a movie from the book. Do you all have a nominee for Brodhead’s role.
So why does the liberal news media refuse to ask the Black Panthers to apologize?
What would the press be doing to the Christian Coalition, Moral Majority, or NRA if the roles were juxtaposed?
