Senator: NAFTA Superhighway is nearly a reality
Tulsa World ^ | September 29, 2007 | Randy Krehbiel

State Sen. Randy Brogdon, R-Owasso, said Friday that the so-called "NAFTA Superhighway" is "close to reality" and is being built for "transporting goods and people from Mexico and China."

Brogdon made the remarks during a news conference at Tulsa International Airport for the Oklahomans for Sovereignty and Free Enterprise conference being held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Renaissance Hotel, 6808 S. 107th East Ave.

The organization, which uses the acronym OK-SAFE, believes that the Bush administration and business interests are conspiring to effectively merge the United States, Mexico and Canada by lowering or eliminating trade barriers and national borders.

"I have recognized over the last couple of years a concerted effort to undermine the nation's sovereignty -- not only the nation's, but the state's sovereignty, as well," Brogdon said.

I honestly don’t know, short of voting all the lawmakers out of office, come election day. (And PRAY the results aren’t rigged.)

Hmmm. let’s see. Canada has oil and water. Mexico has cheap labor and oil too. There is virtually no difference between Canada and the US at this point anyway. With 10% of the Mexican population already in the US, it seems a pretty logical step just to assume we are one big happy family. How boot some tacos ayy?

Presidential Candidate, DUNCAN HUNTER, seems to be the only candidate making an attempt to do anything about the situation...

For Immediate Release
July 25, 2007

HUNTER NAFTA SUPER HIGHWAY AMENDMENT PASSES HOUSE

Washington, D.C. – Late last evening, Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) successfully offered an amendment to H.R. 3074, the FY2008 Transportation Appropriations Act, prohibiting the use of federal funds for participation in working groups under the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP), including the creation of the NAFTA Super Highway. The Hunter amendment gained strong bipartisan support, passing the House by a vote of 362 – 63.

“The proposed NAFTA Super Highway presents significant challenges to our nation’s security, the safety of vehicle motorists, and will likely drive down wages for American workers,” said Congressman Hunter. “Much like NAFTA, the super highway is designed to serve the interests of our trading partners and will lead to neither security nor prosperity.

“This 12 lane highway, which is already under construction in Texas, will fast-track thousands of cargo containers across the U.S. without adequate security. These containers will move from Mexico, a country with a record of corruption and involvement in the drug trade, across a border that is already porous and insufficiently protected.

“Unfortunately, very little is known about the NAFTA Super Highway. This amendment will provide Congress the opportunity to exercise oversight of the highway, which remains a subject of question and uncertainty, and ensure that our safety and security will not be compromised in order to promote the business interests of our neighbors.”

NOTE: SPP working groups are advancing a plan to build the NAFTA Super Highway – an international corridor extending between the U.S., Mexico and Canada.”

We absolutely need Duncan Hunter. He is the only candidate (IMHO) worthy of the office of POTUS - the only candidate who, for years, has shown his total support of the people who voted him into office. He listens to, hears and acts on what his constituants want.

The globalist RINO Rockefeller wing must be stopped. This is a lesson in what happens when one compromises one's principles.

If we do not stop them we will bear the burden of knowing their betrayal in the very midst of our own party has done far more than the Liberals ever could- The direct destruction of our nation, and our Constitution that we hold so dear, for it is exactly that.

We must raise the hue and cry for the conservative cause to lend aid and support to those who stand in the breach, and to oust the soulless bastards who would sell their country and their kin for filthy lucre!

Lastly, and more than any other thing, we must not vote in anyone, I mean anyone who is not a confirmed Conservative of the highest integrity. In doing so, we add to those who are the only ones that have risen to oppose this crap in all it's forms.

VOTE CONSERVATIVE!

After all, “It’s for the national infrastucture.”

“if we could save just one mile, it would be worth it.”

This is kinda fun using liberal mantras.

no, if this was just one or 2 senator’s personal pet project, that would not be national infrastructure.

maybe we should close down airports too so that we have nothing to do with the rest of the world.

Free trade is fine only if it is fair.

Infrastructure is fine too, so long as it does not promote open borders and aid Mexican ports at the expense of our own, not to mention the massive security risk.

Actually the issue isn’t about shutting off US trade - you know that. It’s about facilitating hemispheric integration. It’s about power. The talking point of late is infrastructure. It should be sovereignty.

Will Duncan Hunter explain to us the significance of I-5 in California being designated a "Corridor of the Future" while I-35 in Texas wasn't designated.

Will Hunter be writing an amendment to the transportation bill that prevents California from receiving the benefits(financial and otherwise) of I-5 being designated?

Since the 17th Amendment, the States have had no representation in the federal government.
