The organization was founded by the conservative-turned-leftist journalist David Brock, who says he created Media Matters “to combat” what he characterizes as the largely successful effort of “the right wing in this country” to “mov[e] the media itself to the right” and to “mov[e] American politics to the right.”
David Brock, who experienced some sort of political "epiphany" after writing "The Real Anita Hill." He decided all of a sudden he was a liberal after all and started going after those nasty right-wingers. I wonder what Hillary has on him?

In fact, after Imus was fired by NBC and CBS, Media Matters published a 6,000-word article entitled “It’s Not Just Imus,” listing other political enemies of the Clintons such as Glenn Beck, Neal Boortz, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Michael Savage, Michael Smerconish, and John Gibson. I don't see Ann Coulter on this list...

Sometimes people forget that the founder of MMFA is David Brock who was once a hated and vilified conservative until he began writing an anti-Hillary book. During the writing of the book he fell in love with a Hillary staffer, who moved into his Washington DC home.
He has been a diehard leftist since. And the book he wrote ended up praising Hillary.
Brock is now the go-to-guy for anti-Republican slime.
