Secession from North American Union
10/12/07 | Bear_Slayer

A union with Mexico may be profitable for Big Business and garner votes for the GOP amongst the latino community, but like water seeking it's own (lowest) level, a union with Mexico will bring that nation up to the standard of living of our nation, but rather bring our quality of living down to hers.

Therefore, because each member state within the existing North American Union, also known as the United States of America, is a sovreign nation/state I suggest that any nation/state within the existing North American Union exercise their right to withdraw from the existing North American Union before the federal government oversteps its authority/power and enters into an unlawful union with Mexico and Canada.

Considering that a union with Mexico is at best an academic proposal with no real world possibility in the foreseeable future, then it is already done.

The only way I’d ever sit still for any kind of union with Mexico is if we over run the place militarily and break, then remake that place into something functional and set them on the path to learning our language in their schools and advancing past the territory stage and into full state status, kinda like Texas did.

Rather than succeed from the Union, can with through some states out? Seems it would easier in the long run.

Can we call D.C. the "State of Columbia" and throw it out?

That would solve many of our problems.

On the other hand, maybe you could make a killing in the currencies market with some shrewd trading of the new “Amero” currency before it even exists.

Introducing such facts into the discussion is pointless. Several here are convinced that Bush has already worked out all the details with the leaders of Mexico and Canada (and presumably some of the central american countries as well) and the deal has already been consummated. It is just a matter of time.

It's happening.

It's already happened! The plan has been set, and the back-room deals have been made. The country has been opened up. The borders are a mirage. The language is bilingual. The economies are being merged. Social and medical programs are open for NAU citizens. Mexican flags are starting to fly above or in place of the Stars & Stripes. Current and former Mexican Presidents are talking the NAU. The US Dollar is being "trashed" and in need of replacement (by the Amero?). Most obviously, the Constitution is being restructured. Meanwhile, politicians are distracting Americans with "Wag the Dog" issues such as global warming, race, gay rights, transvestite rights, abortion, religion.... Worst of all, Americans have been so dummied down that they couldn't recognize Treason, if it bit them in the butt.

Help me out here. Are you saying that, because there is a conspiracy to dissolve the Union we should conspire to dissolve the Union?

... a union with Mexico will bring that nation up to the standard of living of our nation, but rather bring our quality of living down to hers.

Likely somewhere marginally above where Mexicans are now. All that has to happen is that our economy be dumbed-down enough. And that is happening thanks to all of the cheap labor being imported and our high-paying jobs being exported.

That's been the big problem all along, you see, in getting that "New World Order," that one-world government thing going... that pesky American Middle Class. Get them out of the way and the process can be speeded up.

Nope, I'll believe it when...no, scratch that. I won't believe it even if I DO see it.

There is no conspiracy to dissolve the union.

Big business is working to unite the Northern continent in one larger union which will engulf all the smaller sovereign states within the US.

The constituion will no longer protect the US citizen. What is good for the Bigger Union will be the law of the land.

The sovereign nations within the United States of America should retain the right to opt out of this new proposal.
