That won’t help. They don’t WANT to learn that lesson, mostly because they AGREE with the SchwartzenRudy arm of the republican party. It is a willful ignorance.

The lead ammo ban appears to be on use within the narrow region where the critically endangered condors live to avoid lead poisonings.

That's substantially correct but here's what has my keen interest:

1) Will outdoor shooting ranges, located within the boundaries of the area where led ammunition is banned for hunting, also be required to ban the use of lead ammunition at those ranges?
2) Will indoor shooting ranges, located within the boundaries of the area where led ammunition is banned for hunting, also be required to ban the use of lead ammunition at those ranges?

OK, I was waiting for the squabbling to stop and some discussion about responding to this to start.

How can all the manufacturers be brought on board? Even the ammo companies should buy in on this. Let the cops get re-familiar with night sticks. Show cali how much this government is enhancing “safety”.

Thanks. It’s moderately consoling to know that it didn’t go through without a fight. (One takes ones consolation where one can these days) I saw the Assembly PS committee hearing the last time the bill was up, and the manufacturers put on a pretty good show.

I’m going back to a speech about liberty he gave at the RNC convention back in 2004. He was evidently just going through his lines, as an actor. He knows nothing about liberty.

The microstamping is stupid since we know the criminals will not be buying legal firearms and will quickly remove the technology.

A criminal isn't going to be using a freshly purchased firearm with microstamping. They will use firearms stolen or brought into the state in association with other criminal activity. If they do buy a new one, the microstamping capability will be filed and polished off before use.

The level of sophistication of gang criminals using encoded messages indicated they aren't stupid. They will work around this lame approach.

The only people hurt by this stupid legislation are the firearms manufacturers and legal purchasers of firearms. Both will be financially penalized for no good reason.

I’m trying to figure out why any self-respecting conservative would live in CA, NY or NJ.

The self-respecting conservatives stay in California.

The ones that are intimidated by the liberals and don't have the temerity to fight for the conservative causes in places we call the belly of the beast are the ones that show a lack of self respect.

Or desire to keep this country on the right track.

Don't worry, we'll keep fighting the Liberals in California while you reap the benefits.

It will be easier for us without you and the others on this thread that run from the fight and then bash California.

A very sad day for the republic. One piece at a time and the water temp always seems to stay the same. I think the Ronnie Barret principle should be applied. BLOAT while you can.

? Does this have some secret meaning ?

I suppose if you’re a good shot it only takes one.

Hunter has been silent as 100’s of acres of public open shooting areas have been closed permanently in his district.

Right. Sargent Shriver married Eunice Kennedy. iirc, whose brothers were teddy, bobby, etc. If your mom is a Kennedy, you are, no matter what your last name is.

The microstamping is stupid since we know the criminals will not be buying legal firearms and will quickly remove the technology.

The microstamping is not stupid, because it is not intended to reduce crime, or for forensic use. The authors know that it will be useless for this purpose. The intent of the bill is to increase the cost of pistols for buyers, and increase the liability risk of sellers, thus reducing the legal supply on an incremental basis.

The "remove the technology" part is the beauty of the plan. The next piece of legislation will note that criminals are doing this, and will criminalize any act that would remove or diminish the microstamping. The practical upshot will be to criminalize home repairs of pistols, and create a huge reporting burden and legal liability for gunsmiths, thus reducing the legal supply further.

They are not stupid.

They are evil.

Put some of that passion into getting a referendum going. Just the threat of that is how we got rid of the illegal alien driver license bill that got passed in the last days of the Davis administration.

His speech started out okay, but everything after the opening lines you can ignore, LOL.

Thank you.

What a greeting!

This is like winning an Oscar! ...As if I would know! Speaking of acting, one of my movies was called “True Lies.”

I’m in the same boat - almost - I am too old to go shooting at -20F.

So summer = range time. I can use the 300M range at the local Army post and they even supply new paper targets - someone still cares about Marksmanship.

All these political issues are ultimately related to the illegal immigration problem.

The only thing that will ultimately save the state, or for that matter, the nation, is if we can force the federal government to stop including illegal aliens in the census-derived apportionment in 2010.

Consider how effective that one thing would be in changing the attitudes of politicians. There would no longer be an incentive to ignore the problem, nor to pander to illegals. The politics of California would turn on a dime.

>Damn! This is nothing more than a semi-auto handgun ban in disguise.<

No, this is a genuine effort to get all gang members to rid themselves of the unsafe semi automatic handgun and change to the much safer revolvers. When the gang members have successfully changed over then perhaps the housewives will get rid of their handguns and switch to 12 guage shotguns or perhaps the even safer paintguns.

When I looked up your previous posts last night I thought you registered for the sole purpose of badmouthing Hunter, because that was the only post that was listed.

I stand corrected, and take it back.
