Out of curiosity I checked with in Net Flicks to see if they had any. I found all of them listed except for Tightrope.
I remember seeing a film about some people trying to sneak out of a red country only to have their guide betray them.Perhaps somebody remembers the name of that one.

My opinion is that you give them too much credit. Sean Penn, Streisand, Baldwin, et al, are all technically morons.
They have no intellectual agenda beyond being ‘against’ because they are too stupid to even know what they are doing. They do not know what Communism is or anything about history or politics.
They are uneducated idiots being manipulated by people of power who have nefarious designs on America. They have an elitist pathological need to be perceived as being ‘smarter than thou’. Ergo, whatever mainstream America believes, they have to be, by kneejerk, against it.
They have been tricked into believing that this behavior makes them ‘intellectuals’, without all the bother of actually having to study, without actually getting real verifiable academic degrees, and without actually having achieve anything in reality. They have no degrees, no history of ambassadorship, no military service, no nothing. They know nothing and have never done anything of any worth.
They feel that their moral station in life is above these mundane, unnecessary, petit-bourgeoisie concerns. "I believe myself to be an intellectual and therefor I am."
It is all about self worship, narcissism, and self aggrandizement.

Wow! Woman On Pier 13 (starring the great John Agar), Sam Fuller and anticommunism all in one article. This psychotronic film fan is jumping for joy!

Your Post #5 was a good, succinct summary, and spot on.

I saw Man On a String on TCM in August. I thought that Ernie Borgnine was great in it!

was written by Robert Sherwood, a former FDR speechwriter and possibly the sole member of Roosevelt's retinue with a clear understanding of communism. Unfortunately, this is far from being true... FDR's retinue had plenty of people who had a clear understanding of communism, starting with Alger Hiss and I'm sure many other practicing anti-American communists. But I get the author's point.

When I saw this post, I was wondering if the author would include Trial. I enjoyed that movie, and how it depicts the left's exploitation of "victims". Also, it even dwells into the left's racism, as the black judge over seeing the trial is accused of being an Uncle Tom for daring to have an independent mind. Good flick...

How about a series of nicely-packaged DVDs with commentary by, say, Michael Medved, and historical background from figures such as Arthur Herman or Harvey Klehr. Or a boxed set suitable for giving to high school and college students or anyone else never exposed to the realities of communism. Great idea. . .

The sad thing is that, if and when film appreciation classes even cover these, they do so to show, “the anti-communist hysteria that gripped that nation,” when we were a “less sophisticated” nation.
