Rudi-Tutti is the one candidate that I refuse to vote for no matter who is the nominee on the other side of the isle. I will vote 3rd party if Rudi is the candidate - period. A Rudi POTUS would be no different from a Hillary presidency.

"I'm the consistent conservative who's been out there for eight years on the national level supporting tax increases..."

Poor Fred is not quite ready for prime time, is he?

The WOT is not a conservative or liberal issue - it is a matter of national security that should cut across party lines. But I have no faith that Rudi-tuti could run that either.

I keep asking the 20%ers (aka the Rudy apologists) exactly what Guiliani would do different than President Bush in the WOT? So far, no response, but I have even offered a few ideas based on Rudy's record.

Push for more gun control?

Expand sanctuary cities?

Encourage more illegal aliens by telling them that they are NOT really illegal?

Allow gays to openly serve in the military?

Locate emergency command centers to the most likely target (like he did in NY)?

Make quality appointments to important positions like his recommendation to President Bush of Bernie Kerik to head Homeland Security?

That one surprised me as well. He screwed up his prepared lines then didn't realize what he had said until Cavuto corrected him.

Of the 4 MSM anointed candidates, I certainly put Fred and McCain in the column of "more conservative" than Rudy and Mitt, but they're all CFR members who will likely continue to erode US sovereignty. NAFTA, CAFTA, North American Superhighway, NAU, Amero, the Mexican Truckers (just pushed through by Bush), law of the sea treaty (vetoed by Reagan, now being pushed by Bush), "dream act", and the drumbeat just continues.

If you believe stongly in American Sovereignty, then Paul, Tancredo, and Hunter are the only truly acceptable candidates. I'll vote for Fred over Hillary, but once again, I'll be choosing between the evils of two lessers. I've done that in every election since '88. I'd really prefer a good candidate for a change.

Incidentally, most John Waters movies I will never see - I won't watch porn. But "Serial Mom", his one mainstream attempt, was hilarious.

[”I’m the consistent conservative who’s been out there for eight years on the national level supporting tax increases...”

Poor Fred is not quite ready for prime time, is he?]

We are so fortunate to have the Mittster as an alternative, willing to do or say anything to get elected, without a principle so fixed he couldn’t change it within the blink of an eye.

How soon does he become God?

Yeah I know Rudy isn’t a conservative. That was my point with “phony” conservative...if you’re a phony, you’re a fake. That’s what I was trying to say while making a joke based off Rush’s “phony soldiers” comment. Perhaps it didn’t come out right, but what I was trying to say is that Rudy’s not a conservative.

Mitt's definitely more ready for prime time. After all, he's the best actor on the stage.

My dream ticket would be Romney / Hunter. Or vice versa. Either way would work for me.

Romney appears too ready for prime time , which will be his undoing . Try hards like Romney don’t sit well with people when it comes nomination time . People see through it , like I eventually did .

Come join the Fred campaign to victory , so we can nominate a true Conservative that can defeat Hillary .

I agree 100%.

We need a conservative who will UNITE the Party while ENERGIZING the base,,,,

not a LIBERAL like Giuliani who is guaranteed to SPLIT AND DIVIDE the Party WIDE OPEN,,,,,while DEMORALIZING the base.

Fred might be the closest thing to a conservative among the “top tier” candidates and the only one among them I could vote for without vomiting in the general election), but as has been posted - despite Fred coming across as conservative, he IS a CFR member. I don’t trust ANYone with ties to that organization.

My preference has been no secret for some time - Duncan Hunter. I also like Tancredo. Foot - I think I would prefer Ron Paul over Rudi McRomney... but only barely.

Well unfortunately Hunter and Tancredo have zero chance of winning. So CFR aside , we need to take into consideration all of the periphery issues that will come with a Conservative in the W.H. Judges , gun rights, States Rights , pro-life, low taxes , strong defense .....

Thompson is our only hope and we need your help ....

I am not one who thinks that Fred Thompson does not have problems. He voted for McCain/Feingold and voted aginst removing Bill Clinton from office. These two acts make me wary of Fred Thompson. Having said that, I know that both Giuliani and Romney are liberals so I could never vote for either of them. John McCain sponsored McCain/Feingold and helped lead the gang of 14 which effectively ended hopes of the Republican Senate using the so called nuclear option to clear judicial nominations from the threat of filibuster. I cannot support McCain as a result.

Fred Thompson has a good conservative voting record and a pleasant personality. He seems to understand the need to excite the base and to lead moderates into the conservative fold through persuasion. I can vote for Thompson and hope that I will have the opportunity to do so in November of 2008.

No trust of John Bolton or one of Reagan’s Favorite Diplomats, Jean Kirkpatrick?

It’s a think tank with a lot of liberal academics who like to write “we are the world” utopia pieces, but also has Conservative members. That’s the whole non partisan/ bipartisan thing they do.
