Father, You are a great God. You created the heavens and the earth and each of us are your handiwork with a special place and time and assignment appointed to us. We come before Your throne this day in the name of Jesus, asking Your Holy Spirit to guide us in this specific assignment to pray for those in authority, our troops and our nation. Together with Your Spirit, we have faith that You will cause us to pray Your perfect will.

We are grateful for a President who has acknowledged that Jesus is his Lord. This is a tremendous blessing from You. We pray that You would bless us with another leader called by Your name as a result of the next Presidential election. Because President Bush is Yours, we know that he has all Your exceeding great and precious promises (through the knowledge of You) available to him. We pray that You would enlighten the eyes of his understanding to know more of all that belongs to him in You. Send him Your word, oh God, to bring him healing in whatever area of his life he has a need. We trust You to give him “divine sentences and for his mouth not to transgress in judgement”. We trust You to “establish his throne by righteousness” We trust You to cause “righteous lips to be his delight”. Help him to “commit his works to You” and “direct his steps”. (Proverbs 16)

We pray for a shield of protection over each and every one of our defenders of freedom and over our nation. Send us laborers filled, motivated and anointed with Your love into Your harvest of multitudes in the valley of decision. Help them understand, Holy Spirit, that choosing Jesus is choosing life.

We honor You and thank You for the answers to our prayers in Jesus' name. Amen.

When We Don’t Know What To Say

READ: Job 6:1-14

To him who is afflicted, kindness should be shown by his friend. —Job 6:14

Roy Clark and his father sat in the family car in the funeral home parking lot for several minutes. As a teenager, he wasn’t sure how to respond when his dad put his head in his hands and moaned, "I don’t know what to say!"

A friend from their church had been in a car accident. She had survived, but her three daughters had all died when a truck hit their vehicle. What could they say to their friend at a time like this?

In the Bible we are told that during Job’s time of grieving, his three friends came to mourn with him and to comfort him. For the first 7 days they sat and wept with him because he was in deep sorrow (Job 2:11-13). "No one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great" (v.13). Their presence alone was a comfort to him.

But then they began to lecture. They told Job he must have sinned and that God was punishing him (4:7-9).

When Job was finally able to respond, he told his friends what he needed from them. He asked for reasons to continue hoping (6:11), for kindness (v.14), and for words that did not presume guilt (vv.29-30).

Remembering the story of Job and his friends may help us when we don’t know what to say.

Lord, give me sensitivity
To people in their grief and pain,
To weep with them and show Your love
In ways mere words cannot attain.  —Sper

When someone’s grieving—listen, don’t lecture.

A Servant’s Prayer

Use me, lord.
What is Thy will?
I am Yours
Even when still

Let my heart
Follow You
I know Your way
Is ever true

You give me joy
Every day
Make my heart sing
Come what may

All my tomorrows
Forever Yours
As I walk this path
To Heaven’s doors

As I Follow
Close to Thee
Thy loving grace
Has been my key

You gave me life, Lord
and filled my soul
This worthless empty shell
Has been made whole

Your words and music
Fill my Heart, Lord
Let’s spread Your love
And its rewards.

Amen.

AMEN SISTER AND GRACE TO ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS!

Psalms 65:1
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. A Song. Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion; And to You the vow shall be performed.

Psalms 65:2
O You who hear prayer, To You all flesh will come.

Psalms 65:3
Iniquities prevail against me; As for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them.

Psalms 65:4
Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple.

Psalms 65:5
By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us, O God of our salvation, You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth, And of the far-off seas;

Psalms 65:6
Who established the mountains by His strength, Being clothed with power;

Psalms 65:7
You who still the noise of the seas, The noise of their waves, And the tumult of the peoples.

Psalms 65:8
They also who dwell in the farthest parts are afraid of Your signs; You make the outgoings of the morning and evening rejoice.

Psalms 65:9
You visit the earth and water it, You greatly enrich it; The river of God is full of water; You provide their grain, For so You have prepared it.

Psalms 65:10
You water its ridges abundantly, You settle its furrows; You make it soft with showers, You bless its growth.

Psalms 65:11
You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.

Psalms 65:12
They drop on the pastures of the wilderness, And the little hills rejoice on every side.

Psalms 65:13
The pastures are clothed with flocks; The valleys also are covered with grain; They shout for joy, they also sing.
(NKJV)

“Thy paths drop fatness.”
- Psalm 65:11

Many are “the paths of the Lord” which “drop fatness,” but an especial one
is the path of prayer. No believer, who is much in the closet, will have
need to cry, “My leanness, my leanness; woe unto me.” Starving souls live
at a distance from the mercy- seat, and become like the parched fields in
times of drought. Prevalence with God in wrestling prayer is sure to make
the believer strong-if not happy. The nearest place to the gate of heaven
is the throne of the heavenly grace. Much alone, and you will have much
assurance; little alone with Jesus, your religion will be shallow,
polluted with many doubts and fears, and not sparkling with the joy of the
Lord.
Since the soul-enriching path of prayer is open to the very weakest
saint; since no high attainments are required; since you are not bidden to
come because you are an advanced saint, but freely invited if you be a
saint at all; see to it, dear reader, that you are often in the way of
private devotion.
Be much on your knees, for so Elijah drew the rain upon famished Israel’s
fields.

There is another especial path dropping with fatness to those who walk
therein, it is the secret walk of communion. Oh! the delights of
fellowship with Jesus! Earth hath no words which can set forth the holy
calm of a soul leaning on Jesus’ bosom. Few Christians understand it, they
live in the lowlands and seldom climb to the top of Nebo: they live in the
outer court, they enter not the holy place, they take not up the privilege
of priesthood.
At a distance they see the sacrifice, but they sit not down with the
priest to eat thereof, and to enjoy the fat of the burnt offering.
But, reader, sit thou ever under the shadow of Jesus; come up to that
palm tree, and take hold of the branches thereof; let thy beloved be unto
thee as the apple-tree among the trees of the wood, and thou shalt be
satisfied as with marrow and fatness.
O Jesus, visit us with thy salvation!

C.H.SPURGEON

SOLI DEO GLORIA!

Amen, King's Servant, to your Entire Awesome and Heaven-Enabled Prayer!

My Heart was Blessed this Morning while Reading a Portion of the Song of Solomon, and it Made me Fervently Wish this was the Day of our Savior's Return!

'My Beloved Spake, and Said unto me, Arise, My Love, My Fair One, and Come Away.
For, Lo, the Winter is Past, the Rain is Over and Gone;
The Flowers Appear on the Earth; the Time of the Singing of Birds is Come,
And the Voice of the Turtledove is Heard in our Land;
The Fig Tree Putteth Forth her Green Figs,
And the Vines with the Tender Grape are Fragrant.
Arise, My Love, My Fair One, and Come Away.' (Song2:10-13)

Loving Lord, our Souls Long for an Eternal Spring with You! Thank You for Caring for us, and for Granting to us an Eternal Salvation. For All of Your Blessings, we Sing Forth the Glory of Your Name. Be Praised and Honored Forevermore, as we Pray through Holy Grace, amen.

I join you all in prayer for President Bush, our country, our troops in harm’s way, world leaders, and the LOST—that the veil will lift from their eyes to see the ONE and ONLY living God!

I pray for our Father to heal our land, and for His Will to be done. I thank Him for ALL the gifts and blessings He has bestowed upon us and PRAISE His Holy name! I pray for His continued Hand of protection over us and that with repentent hearts, we will seek His face. I praise and thank Him for the progress in Iraq—for the fact that not a SINGLE bomb or IED or attack was reported in Iraq yesterday! Hallelujah! I continue to pray for changed hearts throughout the world. To God goes ALL the glory!

In Jesus’ precious name, AMEN!

Thank you for this gift of George W. Bush as our President during these last six and a half years. Please give him the strength, wisdom, peace of mind, patience, and help he needs to finish these next 15 months with honor.

Please protect him and his family.
