The same thing happened this year here in Western Montana, a cattle rancher down in Sula, Montana had his black lab eaten by a wolf.

The dog, a 15-year-old black Lab mix... 15? I am guessing that old Shilo did not suffer very long in that fight.

If not for global warming it would have been too cold for the lab to go outside to do his business and he'd still be alive.

The owner brought the hot dog to the party. Thanks for the snack, its probably one of the few benefits the wolves get for the encroachment of civilization. I always liked the way the residents fed the mountain lions in Boulder Canyon. Get over it or get out of their domain.

A pack of wolves killed and ate a dog in a residential subdivision in North Pole early Wednesday morning. The North Pole neighborhood has gone to hell since Claus Industries sold out to China. Nonunion elves, TSA inspection of every toy shipment before takeoff...and now this.

State wildlife biologists Don Young and Tom Seaton drove to North Pole to inspect the kill site at first light. They estimated there were five wolves in the pack and it doesnt appear the killing was premeditated, Young said.
Well, since it wasn't premeditated, I suspect the pack will avoid the death penalty, maybe ten years at most for a first offense.

Here in Wisconsin the whack-job environmentalists made wolves a protected species, a ban only recently lifted after farm and domestic—even humans—were attacked. Black bears are still protected even though one hunter was mauled and chewed on. I always wondered what harm would ensue if we killed every damned wolf and bear in Wisconsin? Would the world end if such predators became extinct? What do they contribute to the environment—other than to give bleeding hearts something to whine about? Or is it that humans are worth less than animals?

Big deal, I have lost several cats recently to wolves, I see them from time to time and I am about 50 miles north of Anchorage, Alaska.
I need to check out my scopes anyway on my Bushmaster.

The North Pole has subdivisions? Man, urban sprawl really is getting out of hand!
To: Friend_from_the_Frozen_North
There are 'subdivisions' at the North Pole??? ...line in the snow???
