Will Mark Warner stand for instate tuition for illegals, DREAM ACT, and Hillary/Spitzer idea of giving licenses to illegals? What about amnesty? Or will he lie and pretend he’s not lined up with Hillary on this?
Is he a pro-abortion NARAL/NOW advocate?
Does he support Title IX reverse discrimination?
And people are saying the party of Hillary, Pelosi and Reid will win in the land of Robt E. Lee?

Gilmore would make a much better Senator than Mark Warner.
Ipso facto, if voters are truly informed, he has a chance to win. So quit the defeatism right now and get to work defeating Warner.

You had effectively the same yahoos that voted for Clinton voted for Dukakis 4 years earlier. He never did have a mandate. 57% of the voters went with somebody else in ‘92, just not all with Bush, Sr.
Governor Gridlock is best remembered for ending the hated car tax. Or maybe not.
This is true...but it was a mostly a mute point, because it was replaced with a host of different fees.

Va has experience big population growth in Northern Va. As a result there demands for more transportation services in that part of the state. The Dems have been successful in linking the solution to transportation problem to higher taxes. With the Republicans not offering alternative solutions, the Dems have made big gains in Va.
Warner’s going to likely have to face down Obama or (goodness forbid) O’Malley in the 2012 primaries.
You may not like to hear this but my honest opinion is that it will be Mitt Romney or John McCain in the White House (if we win).
McCain is out. We’re not going to nominate a senile nut. Romney is already seeing his supporters moving to Huckabee, and his nomination as a flipflopper would also split the party. It’ll be Fred or we lose.
McCain is moving up again slowly. Don’t be surprised to see him take NH - there are a lot of unpolled indies. Romney is in a classical position to win. Assuming McCain doesn’t take NH, Romney sweeps the big three. I don’t see Rudy making it out of the primaries (he will be killed with primary campaign commercials). Fred has been slipping slowly since he entered; he’s floundering in IA and NH and is not going to have any momentum to put him over the top in SC. Just MHO.

Problem is, IA & NH aren’t the be-all and end-all of Prez nomination politics. You might like McCain, but he’s still a senile nut and a major-league media whore (of course, he has competition for the title). Romney is a fiasco. This is, frankly, the single most embarrassing field of GOP Presidential candidates I’ve ever seen. Fred stands out like a giant amongst midgets. I don’t see where he has been “slipping.” We have to stay resolute and don’t buy the media bullcrap regarding him and his candidacy. They’re terrified of him, and if they weren’t, they wouldn’t be championing every other RINO candidate’s cause to try to stop him. If he was easy to beat, the media would be behind him 100%.
There’s a chart showing a slow, steady downturn since his announcement. Maybe RCP? I support McCain - he is a standard GOP nominee. Fred is weak on the experience side unfortunately. That’s just my opinion though.
If he is in such slow decline, then why is he tied with or leading Rudy ? But supporting McCain ? Dude, come back to us ! I think you’re the first person in... I can’t remember when... who actually admitted to backing McCain. But Fred is anything but weak on experience. He’s been in the arena a lot longer than McCain has.

You may have a point. I do not think Obama is an issue, but I've been saying for ten years that O'Malley has his eye on the White House and every step of his career has been calculated with that in mind. What a horrible president he would make!
