Ron Paul Political Report
Volume I Number 1
Page 3
In Congress today, unquestlonlng support for Israel is true bipartisan foreign policy. Conservative Senator Jesse Helms (R-Nc) was once a critic of aid to Israel. In 1983, the Israell lobby set out to forge an alliance between the evangelical right and Jews and knew Helms would be the best place to start. As a result, in 1984 Israeli PACs and associated wealthy buslnessmen helped bankroll Helms' reelection. campaign. Once Helms was back in office, he was flown to Israel. At the Wailing wall, Helms described the revelatlon that God wanted foreign aid to Israel. This also, not coincidentally, made him acceptable as minority leader of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

It’s the entire article. Maybe you should ask your hero why he refused to release his own archives of these newsletters when asked to do so by reporters. Unlike you, I have read these letters and I KNOW why he has refused to release them...

They do. He is.
that, by itself, doesn’t make him an anti-semite.

Oh hell, I knew the “true conservative” crap would make it out today.
Congrats...
Supporting Israel has been a part of many conservatives general philosophy.
Now if by conservative in your case you mean libertarian or extreme right, isolationist or whatever, well that would then be accurate...

I am not a politician and I am not even Jewish but I support Israel rather forcefully.
Does that mean that I have been “bought?”

I think supporting Israel is a part of most Christian conservative’s general philosophy. The Bible says those who bless Israel will be blessed. So we bless Israel becausee that is what God wants us to do.

Exactly, but I was trying to leave that out, never know what can of worms you will open with the Paulie Girls...
But now that you mention it, I don’t know why I bothered to leave that out...
Good catch and thanks...

Where in the Constitution is the federal government granted the right to give money to any foreign government. You know, the Constitution? That little thingy?

O.K. I hereby "bless" Israel. I just won't agree that they get any tax money from America. Just where in the Constitution does it grant the federal government the right to give money to any foreign government?

Oh good Lord...
Interstates are not in there either...
So walk home or take a state highway...
The history of this nation including the acts of some pretty damn fine conservatives would tend to be in disagreement with your simplified views...

You may believe what you wish but given RP statements about Israel over the last two decades, I contend that he is in-fact an anti-semite.

O.K., so you admit that there is no Constitutional authority for "foreign aid" but you blow that point off as meaningless. That RIGHT THERE shows why Ron Paul is so revered and why you guys JUST DON'T GET IT.
Interstate highways are also not constitutional, but would have doubtless occurred without federal funding. I proudly drive on interstates, but oppose any type of federal funding for them.
You either believe in the concept of a Constitution, or you do not. You, clearly, do not. And that is what the fight and the coming revolution is all about.
Which side will you be on?
