I saw it posted this morning. Anyone know whether Glen Beck is on here in Los Angeles? (Pasadena area).

B4DH.

Here’s a very recent poll showing Hunter at 4%.

Here’s an intrade link to the forum site discussing how Hunter might be gaining traction.

Here’s one showing Fred at 6%, and discussing why.

One thing prediction markets are better at — their only bias is whether someone can make money trading the futures contracts.

Fred has lost ~30 points at Intrade over the last few weeks, looks like it’s stabilizing at ~6%.

Thanks! I’ve been so busy I did not have time to look. Turned on but something else is no. I’ll need to double check it. I also know Beck is repeated a few times so I am sure I’ll be able to catch it.

The repeat should be on in a half hour - on CNN Headline News. (The same channel that Nancy Grace is on.)

You can listen live here:

http://www.glennbeck.com/home/

Tomorrow or Sunday, you will be able to get a video replay or transcript.

The last question Glenn asked him today (before sign-off) was, “Do you think your children and grandchildren will be safe in this country?” (Not actual quote - but the gist of the question.)

Glen answered, “They will, if I am elected into the office of President.” (Not actual quote — but the gist).

He is SO right on - I am hoping somebody does a Ron-Paul on him, and bombards him with BIG bucks - all on the same day! My contribution is going to him anyway, I just hope we can all do it on the same day for IMPACT.

I thought he did very well. I liked that he didn't hesitate when asked the questions, and he sounded very much like the kind of person we have needed in the White House for quite some time now.

I plan on doing some more research to see what his record is and maybe learn some more about his personal life.

I especially liked how he went after Chertoff and the fact that they have no excuse for not getting the fence built.

Duncan was okay, his nice usual self. Seriously conservative, but lacking paizzazz and charisma. I like him, I wish he was electable.

Personal life? Let's start with he was Born in 1948..US Army, Lieutenent (1969-1971, Vietnam War).

An Army veteran, he won a Bronze Star in Vietnam.

I think I'll stop there for now.

Here’s something you may have not seen about Duncan personally.

This article was written by a child hood friend of the Hunter family. Well worth the read.

I grew up down the street from Duncan Hunter and went to school with his younger brother, Jim. I spent many hours at their home as a kid and can tell you that a visit to the Hunter’s home was unlike that of any other home in the neighborhood. When you walked into their front yard, you might find a deer hide being tanned, or a horse nibbling on their lawn, or another brother, John, conducting some extravagant science experiment. You would almost always get a very friendly greeting from their big yellow labrador, Sam. (It seems the Hunters named a lot of stuff “Sam”) They had no television. Instead you would find a library with thousands of books and numerous artifacts from American and California history, Native American baskets, pipes, moccasins, antique guns, and on and on. There were regular discussions about history, current events and politics.

I learned to shoot a gun and to use a bow and arrow, how to ride a horse and to make clothes from buckskin as the Native Americans and pioneers did. I learned about the damage that liberals were doing to our country and how to be involved in our community and our nation. I have to say that I learned more about history and Native American culture just hanging out at the Hunter home than I did in 4 years at the University of California as a history major.

Bob and Lola Hunter, Duncan’s parents, demanded excellence and discipline from their children, along with honesty, duty, loyalty, hard work and fairness. And yet, there was always spontaneity and a sense of adventure in their home. Laziness, wastefulness, bullying and cheating were never tolerated.

I remember a photo hanging on the wall in their home of Duncan as an Army Ranger taken in Vietnam. I remember talking with Jim and his dad about what Duncan’s service meant to our country. Duncan’s own son’s military service in Iraq is evidence to me that Duncan raised his own family in much the same way he was raised. Duncan Hunter is the real thing. His positions on the issues won’t evolve with every wind of political convenience, and he did not get his hunting license from a box of Cracker Jack. He will make a great President.

Thanks both of you for some information on Hunter. He seems like he was raised in the kind of household that I was brought up in. Even though he is somewhat older than me, my dad was a WWII vet and so I was raised much the same way. Not much tv, lots of books, and encouragement to expand our horizons.

I think the biggest question for me would be does he have the force of will to push against the idiot agendas of the entrenched career politicians who are selling out our country?

I guess we'll see.
