This year's Veterans' Day Weekend was highlighted by the 25th Anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, commonly known as "The Wall". The BELOW pictures are from readings on Thursday afternoon.
Thursday night was also very moving. The air was clear and crispy cold. One could just see their breath as the temps fell from a warm afternoon. And all was quiet as the planes had stopped landing and taking off from Reagan National Airport. The speakers on the grass at the top of the Wall and on the stage clearly announced the names of our fallen, which could be heard for blocks around. It was the start of a most memorable weekend.
Olney's FReep, while always mindful of all our heroes in uniform, was still energetic in supporting our current crop of military personnel. We will not let them be degraded as they were in the 60s and 70s.
FReepers and Lurkers in attendance this week are: Legionaires Frank and Glenn, Elizabeth from California, Cindy_True_Supporter (CTS), PrezUSA222, Sensei Ern, VictoryNY, [Mrs] Trooprally ([Mrs] T), and myself.
Pics are by [Mrs] T
The moonbats numbered 7 plus two visitors. We believe one was a Ron Paul supporter because we were visited by a young supporter of Ron Paul. [Mrs] T handily argued her down.
BELOW LEFT: The Moonbats BELOW RIGHT: Ron Paul guy talking to moonbat in red. Another moonbat reads the handout.
But enough of the moonbats.
BELOW LEFT: Legionnaire Frank (Army - Korea) and Lurker Elizabeth. BELOW RIGHT: Sensei Ern
BELOW LEFT: Legionnaire Glenn (USMC - Iwo Jima) BELOW RIGHT: PrezUSA222, Lurker Elizabeth and CTS
BELOW LEFT: VictoryNY and Lurker Elizabeth set up. BELOW RIGHT: PrezUSA222 and VictoryNY jumping in support of our troops. She was not feeling well today but her enthusiasm was unfailing.
BELOW: And I was there. After raining most of Friday and some at Walter Reed, it finally stopped this morning. The roads were still a little wet - our group was dry but chilly.
REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
But a lot of verbal engagement in Olney is always welcome.
If you live in northern VA and want a short cut to Olney See Post 39 Here. It's an easy 20 minute drive from the American Legion Bridge.
A special Thanks to a FReeper FRiend for enhancing the original plain type directions.

Thank you for your kudos. It really helps keep up our spirits, especially as the cold weather starts moving in.
[Mr] T
Looking forward to another fun day tomorrow.
It’s going to be cold. Dress warmly. I’m sure [Mrs] T will have coffee or hot cocoa.
