Breaking News - Explosions Rock Iran Military Site
AntiMullah ^ | November 18th, 2007 | Alan Peters & Iran Sources

Posted on 11/18/2007 2:43:45 PM PST by FARS

Tuesday/Wednesday, November 13/14 - about 4 a.m. Sources inside and outside Iran.

A series of explosions rocked the Parchin Military Site (where missiles, including "cruise" type missiles, are manufactured) at Varamin south of Tehran.

The Shahab 3, 4 and more recently Shahab 5 solid fuel missiles at the site are hidden in old salt mines in the mountain face in the area, further excavated and furbished for development and manufacture.

The main purpose of this Ministry of Defense site, established by the late Shah's father - Reza Shah Kabir - in the early 1900's and taken over by the IRGC, had been and has been to manufacture ammunition, chemical explosives and more recently short range rocket missiles.

The exacavated salt mines for longer range missile technology have been expanded by the Mullah regime.

More than likely, the explosives, IED's, rockets and similar items of Iranian manufacture showing up in Iraq and Afghanistan were largely produced at Parchin.

I can’t find this anywhere else but I may not be using the right search words.

The genetic search is hit and miss. The fewer words searched on the better, but too small a word will also not find a match.

I wonder if it's a "Workman's Comp." claim, or sabotage. Then again, anything is possible. Maybe there's an 'empty tube,' on someone's submarine?

Just sayin'...

FAS sight calls the whole shootin' match of Iranian (and North Korean) missiles liquid fueled. There is no evidence that the Shahab-5 has ever even been flight tested. I strongly doubt that the Iranians are close to making a solid fueled missile. Solid fueled IRBM are a vastly more difficult to make (and tactically more effective) than liquid fueled.

I know that the Iranians claimed to have made a solid fuel IRBM of some sort, they say a lot of things I'm not buying.

Would be another welcome piece of news.

Meanwhile, the meager “news” mentions on the explosion anywhere, inluding FR with so little detail did not count as “news” in my mind.

The more detailed one on AntiMullah was the first real news in substance rather than just an indication without any flesh. Pun not intended but apt.

Apologies to anyone upset by the “breaking” news title.
