Loved it. But I read the Forever War every year (Haldeman).

That’s one of Oleg Volk’s images, and I think he’s a professional photographer, so that’s a pretty fair summary. I’ve got a giant directory of his stuff. He used to hang out at thehighroad.org firearms forums a lot, and likely still does.

He has a great web site to send those wavering on the issue of gun rights vs. gun control. You should check it out.

"How about a small turbine powering up hydraulics? Even a small 2 cycle engine could provide enough power."

Good point, and if the problem can be solved, that's probably how. Not real great for "stealth work", but otherwise a likely approach.

Amen to that. I still hear some of the lines in my head...

“I always get the shakes before I drop.”

“...cost the government about half a million dollars. Add to that the thirty cents you’re actually worth and that’s quite a sum.

“So bring it back! We can afford to lose you, we can’t afford to lose that fancy suit you’re wearing.”

...

“Is this man salvageable?”

“I believe so, sir.”

“Then we’ll try administrative punishment.” He turned to me. “Five lashes.”

Seems like they have 100’s of ways already.

Thankfully, God has more things up HIS bigger sleeves than they have imagined.

A tidy little zero-point energy module shoudl power such things quite handily.

“Tesla Motors is taking orders for their new all electric car.”

Does the 230+ miles range they advertise include running with the A/C or heater on?

Wow, I just woke up from a dead sleep and sat bolt upright and said to myself “what the heck was I thinking? 550 pounds up 5 feet in a second is only 5 horsepower, not 25!!”

My bad. I have know Idea where I got 25. But that makes the 50cc motor even more doable.

A sophisticated motor is fully capable of developing 2 horsepower per cubic inch. 50cc is 3in^3. That means 6 horsepower potential. With extreme levels of turbo boost and very high RPMs, you can double that figure easily.

Alright, now that I got this done, It’s back to bed for me.

Could you imagine a mini-gun or a .50 on one arm with an ammo backpack and an anti-tank/armor weapon on the other arm? Then having a network of future predator drones buzzing above protecting his airspace and feeding him targeting information.

Never been more disappointed in a movie in my life - they made it a bad cartoon. Just ordered 4 copies of the book, one for my nephew, one for a future ROTC cadet, one for me and one spare. I gave my old copy to a kid who was headed for Air Force OTS, as I think it’s timeless in its approach to the AF core principles of integrity first, service before self and excellence in all we do.
