Terrill's new immigration bill proposals:
1) Make English the official language of Oklahoma, with exceptions for American Indian languages.
2) Provide state funding to train law enforcement officers in federal immigration law enforcement.
3) Authorize law enforcement agencies to seize assets such as vehicles and property used to harbor or transport illegal immigrants.
4) Require school districts to give more accurate figures on the undocumented students who are in public schools.
In late October the 2007 Florida Immigration Reform Legislative Summit was held in which members of FlAttorney's law firm attended. One of the speakers at the Summit was the Director of Immigration Reform for Oklahoma Now whose organization was instrumental in the passage of HB 1804 - The Oklahoma Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act of 2007 ("OTCPA").

I like this bill...esp the part where business/transporters of illegals could lose their property.
I think this part would never be overturned even in the most liberal of courts since it deals w citizens, and not illegals, directly.
I can't help but have compassion for them and wish there was a way for them to stay in Oklahoma. However, I know all the arguments against it.
The centerpiece of Terrill's new legislation will be making English the official language of Oklahoma, he said, although he is considering other proposals. Terrill said he would like to find a way to stop the state from issuing birth certificates to the Oklahoma-born children of illegal immigrants. Instead, he said, the state could acknowledge the birth by sending a notice to the country where the parents are citizens.
