Take A Look At Fred Thompson
The Chattanoogan ^ | November 28, 2007 | Rick Tucker

By now I'm sure the majority of you are aware of who most of the 2008 presidential candidates are. I'm also sure that by now you may be just a little bit sick and tired of the rhetoric that some of these folks are spewing forth. Not a day goes by that we aren't bombarded with the media's biased reports of certain candidates, whether good or bad.

If you are one of the people who are undecided but want to really learn about a particular candidate, I would invite you to take a look at former Sen. Fred Thompson. When Fred Thompson was a U.S. Senator in Tennessee, all along the campaign trail he was genuine, open, and forthright. As a candidate for the President of the United States Fred Thompson is again genuine, open and forthright.

Fred Thompson sets himself apart from every other candidate from both sides by being extremely truthful and upfront about the dangers we face not only here in America, but abroad as well. He understands we must step up the security of our nation if we are to continue to be the sovereign state we are. Fred Thompson has not been frothing at the mouth from childhood about becoming the leader of the free world as many of the candidates have.

If you are not registered to vote, please register. If you are unsure as to which candidate you believe would help make our country safe, please visit Fred Thompson's website. Watch the videos, read the text and then you decide if he is the person you want to lead our country in these tumultuous times around the world. Fred speaks candidly about issues such as national security, education, tax reform, healthcare, the second amendment and others on his website.

Do not let the media decide for you. Fred didn't get in this race too late...the others all got in way too early and for that reason, the media is skewed as to his present standings. Just look at what happened recently with FOX reporter Chris Wallace (see Fred's website for details).

If you think it doesn't matter who leads, think again. If you are not sure what you as a citizen can do to help Fred Thompson spread his word, go to the website and there you will see many, many things you can do to help out. One thing I would encourage you to do is that if you know Fred Thompson personally, if you have been helped through his former U.S. Senate office or even if you just want to let others know what a great man he is, do a google search on Iowa newspapers to start with. Send them a letter to their editor expressing how you feel and encourage others to visit his website. Sure, that may take just a little time to do that, but when Fred Thompson becomes our nominee, wouldn't it have been worth it?

Now, take the time to become informed about the presidential candidacy of Fred Thompson.

I absolutely agree. It should be Fred in 2008. I hope the country can see it.

There are only 2 conservatives running for the GOP nomination. Fred is the only one polling in double digits.

I like it when the process of elimination makes what seemed to be a difficult decision easy.

Like Fred. He’s my second choice. I think Hunter would make a better president, though. Duncan’s got my vote.

This is what I’m encouraging everyone I know to do. The media has done a good job of steering attention away from Fred. I hope that those who are yet to decide on a candidate will give Fred a closer look. There is a lot to like.

It's only easy if you believe what you are spoon-fed in the MSM polls. Personally, I don't let polls influence my vote. I let the candidate's credentials and his affinity with my values decide my vote.

If more of us did this instead of slavishly following the polls, we'd have a better individuals running our government.

Good advice, yes. We need to write letters to the editor because if the MSM (including FNC) has their way, no dual-income busy family will ever hear of him.

One of the things that bothers me the most while traversing the Internet is the “he’s old” argument. What that says to me is that generations have been so overly-separated from each other in families that there is no longer respect for the wisdom of elders. God forbid that I had stayed with the vague liberal views I held at 18.

The candidate to worry about is Romney. Soon Rooty will fall from his perch. The more Pubbies learn about Huckabee, the less they will support him. Thompson will be able to fill that gap. Then Thompson should talk about what damage liberals have done to the country. He could talk about the hamstringing of our intelligence agencies and military, the crushing weight of entitlements-not just in terms of dollars but also dignity and destruction of self-reliance, the constant destruction of unifying societal norms by divisive liberals, the absolute lack of pride about our country, the war between races and genders instigated by liberals, the crushing weight of taxes on the middle class, the impending loss of the English as the dominant language, the constant threat of Liberal meddling in the American family, let alone the constant meddling of the government in every facet of American life.

I appreciate your point but after a year on the campaign trail it's evident a vote for Hunter will be a vote for Rudy or Romney. Conservatives either settle on support for Fred, because he's at double-digits, or we'll be getting a liberal or a waffler.

We are almost to the one month mark before primaries begin. I wish the frontrunners were Thompson and Hunter and all we had to worry about was who the better conservative is. I would feel good about the direction of the country if either man won.

Things did not work out that way. Thompson has to be supported now. Tell every conservative and every republican you know. Let them all know that there is a real alternative to Rudy and Mitt and there is no shame, only pride, in voting for a conservative. Tell them you know Thompson can beat Hillary. Show them the videos of all the candidates. People need to see and hear what these candidates really stand for. The choice is much easier once you understand all of their history.

I do not want to have to go to vote in the general election and have to vote for a republican who supports gun grabbing, supports abortion or likes amnesty. We are going to get one or more of those if Thompson doesn’t win the nomination.

Go Fred!

“I absolutely agree. It should be Fred in 2008. I hope the country can see it.”

Ditto that. And to tell ya the truth, I fully believe if we elect one of the other bums, republican or democrat, then our nation is done... stick a fork in it.

A vote for Hunter is a vote for Hunter. I won’t be strong-armed into changing my vote to satisfy some grade school popularity contest.
