The big question is “Where in our Constitution does it allow our government to take our tax money and give it to other countries for any reason?”
“Maybe hes angling for the Log Cabin endorsement after all.”
That would mean writing them a letter like this one.
I am writing to thank the Log Cabin Club of Massachusetts for the advice and support you have given to me during my campaign for the US Senate and to seek the Clubs formal endorsement of my election. Your endorsement is important to me because it will provide further confirmation that my campaign and approach to government is consistent with the values and vision of government we share.
As a result of our discussions and other interactions with gay and lesbian voters across the state, I am more convinced than ever before that as we seek to establish full equality for Americas gay and lesbian citizens, I will provide more effective leadership than my opponent.
I am not unaware of my opponents [sic] considerable record in the area of civil rights For some voters it might be enough for me to simply match my opponents record in this area. But I believe we can and must do better. If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern. My opponent cannot do this. I can and will.
We have discussed a number of important issues such as the Federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which I have agreed to co-sponsor, and if possible broaden to include housing and credit, and a bill to create a federal panel to find ways to reduce gay and lesbian youth suicide, which I also support. One issue I want to clarify concerns [grammar in context] President Clintons dont ask, dont tell, dont pursue military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nations military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share

Never know with Mitt, however, I do believe what he really feels about the Gay Rights movement is starting to come through.
This was a stupid move on Mitt’s part given the importance of Iowa to his campaign and the general moral nature of Iowa’s republican party members.
A good parasite doesn’t kill its host.
Don’t treat it and it will run the course.
I’m tired of funding other countries problems.
They should practice safe sex.....wash their hands.
Mitt Romney, the candidate with the courage to increase funding for the exploration of Uranus.
“Dont use intravenous drugs or have gay sex with multiple anonymous partners.
That would solve 90% of it.”
Yep. Instead of funding african dictators and pretending that AIDS is everyone’s problem and everyone has an equal chance of getting it, why not fund programs that teach abstinence and shine light on the fact that (homo)sexual promiscuity is the root of the problem?
“I also believe that government should work in partnership with our nation’s pharmaceutical researchers...”
This is the same attitude as the one on stem cell research. Somehow, the results of the research depend on the source of funding. Private funding will not develop useful fetal stem cell technology nor will it develop an HIV vaccine. Only government money can do that.
Breakthroughs are needed in all areas of viral disease research, it’s not just retroviruses that are a danger. We got lucky with smallpox and polio, but there are a number of viral killers that need attention, not just HIV.
Did you know that you can get aids from a blood transfusion? That’s right. If a person with HIV gives blood before the disease has begun to progress enough, the tests on the blood can be negative. This means anyone could get aids (eg. after a bad accident) no matter what their lifestyle is.
President Bush has taken steps to ensure modest amounts of money are allocated for Africa’s AIDS victims. Romney is standing with the President on this matter.
lol!
The money we send just makes it worse, because it’s hijacked by the fascist thugs who run the place and used to enrich themselves, arm their private thugs, and incite ethnic hatred. The best thing we could do for Africa is get our money the hell out and send more missionaries.
You can't go wrong with the missionary position.
I can’t argue with that!
I support President Bush's proposal to double our initial commitment from $15 billion to $30 billion over the next five years for the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

Huck's AIDS overtures which, like Mitt's, also support President Bush's positions, haven't seemed to bother all of those party members of "moral nature."
