The gun carnage in America may soon overtake the maelstrom in Iraq.

That's as far as I got.

Everybody needs a little "protection" at home, right?

There is no study that will prove that claim, writes David Hemenway in his 2004 book, Private Guns, Public Health.

Ask Sean Taylor.

We the people of the gun, the great pro-individual(self), pro-country, pro-life individuals in the history of civilization.

“More proof the surge is working.”

Good one!!! She would love that analysis!!

handguns gone wild

Isn't there a movie title in there somewhere? Yeah, we've got to really watch those "wild guns". Why, just the other day, I think mine moved itself on the table!

Check out the nice over-under that Fred's shooting there. No Lexus stuff, Just a good ol' Ruger Red Label, although I could be wrong.

Good choice on Fred's part; eschew the exotic for something that's ubiquitous but nice and stylish.

“Instead, states and counties with more guns have more burglaries when someone is at home,” reports Hemenway, a professor at the Harvard School of Public Health.

I call BULL!

Can somebody w more time please cite contrary studies?!

You might recall that last year his house was raided by police, who reportedly found six guns and 500 rounds of ammunition -- with two young children present.

Only six? Only 500 rounds? Time to go shopping!!!

Good pic, btw, but I think Fred needs the comb just a tad higher.

Clearly Laura Washington is representing someones anti-gun agenda. This piece was written to persuade readers that owning or wanting to own a gun is the result of a compulsion toward gun ownership for gun ownerships sake, and sickness of sorts, having nothing to do with the real reason folks own guns which she discounts.

That is called marketing.

Therefore we can conclude the following:

1) The Chicago-Sun Times is a marketing firm
2) Laura Washington is an ad copy writer
3) Based on the content of this ad, the DNC is the client

Based on similar treatment of DNC positions in the broader MSM, I further conclude that the MSM is a network of marketing firms with the DNC as their largest client.

Every report that appears in MSM audio, video or print is marketing ad copy for the DNC. The MSM are a network of marketing channels that have absolutely nothing to do with journalism.

I like the fact they are pandering to us. It shows that we have their attention. It’s alot better than being ignored.

Not to worry -- fortunately these pols couldn't hit a tin cup at 10 paces.

I wouldn't be so sure of that.

POTG - wish I was a charter member but there were too many lined up in front of me so I am just a regular member.

A gun in the home is 22 times more likely to be used in an unintentional shooting than to injure or kill in self-defense

Hey, it's down to 22 to 1! Down from 43 to 1! Apparently they've made it "injure or kill" the burglar instead of just kill.

Now, we gotta start injuring or killing more burlgars instead of just scaring them away or holding them at gunpoint for police. Think of it as a jobs program for lawyers.
