"We're going to continue to try to see if we can't get in place a timetable for the removal of most of the troops that we have there," Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin, D-Mich., said on CNN's "Late Edition." "Congress should be able to state a goal for the removal of most of the American troops without a veto threat."
We can only hope he will not be reined in over the rest of today.
In a desperate attempt to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I expect nothing less from comb over Carl....
I agree with this idea. Let Congressional Democrats state their goal, then totally ignore it.
We need a MEGA GALLOWS to purge ALL of these traitors! First... we need to get America to realize who and what these vermin are!
LLS
i guarantee that mrs. clinton and mr. obama will be nowhere to be found when the vote is cast.
Congress will do everything it can to poison our new alliances in Iraq.

Precisely. Non binding will fund victory. “Goal language” may throw enough of a bone to the far left to get it through. The problem is they may want this goal language for 6 months of funding. Their true goal is to force defeat onto the troops before Bush leaves office.
This rhetoric needs to stop being about Bush and start being about “imposing a lifetime of shame on the young men and women in combat who were on the very cusp of victory when they were forced to surrender by Democrats.” Make it be about the troops’ victory, not about Bush’s. That pressures the Democrats from conservative districts.
Vote? What vote? Funding vote? You bet some aide is going to pay for not keeping me informed on this important matter. Good help is so hard to find.
