That’s the problem we will never know. Look I lived in Massachusetts for year’s the Boston Globe is like the NYTimes. All lies all the time if it can fit into their agenda. The Boston Herald is the newspaper most trusted by conservatives and those who love the Red Sox.
Not really.
Willard's statement on the firing agrees with the Globe on every important fact.
I am not sure, but this problem is far bigger than this story and blaming homeowners (even a smart, rich one who is running for president) for an entirely screwed up system seems like an incredibly cheap shot.
But it seems like the only shot anyone's really got against him (besides his faith that seem fair game, sadly). Pretty weak.
I'll go out on a limb and say there is probably not one candidate that hasn't had an illegal provide them with some sort of service on their property or automobile etc... They just haven't been exposed.
In fact, I’m going to take it a step further. At my Honda dealer, the service manager is a hispanic gentleman and a number of the mechanics in the service area are also hispanic. Is it my responsibility to go out to the service area and demand they show evidence of their legality before I authorize the maintenance to my car?
You've got to be kidding. LOL
Of course the company is legal. Is it my responsiblity to address each employee if they are legal workers?
OTOH the Mittster could do as many have said. Get one of those five sons to help out with the estate and think ahead a bit regarding how the microscope will be on you. Seems to me he is way too elitist. Nothing worse than that. makes me think about Mormon royalty:
Mormon Royalty
To achieve royalty status, one needs to have at least several of the following traits in their favor:
1. Personal Wealth (tithing numbered in minimum 5 digits preferred)
2. Pedigree (Descendants of polygamous ancestors)
3. University Education (BYU grads score top points here)
4. Professional status (Doctors, dentists, lawyers, or Church Education System...CES types can be forgiven their lack of wealth)
5. Utah like grooming and accent
6. Large gregarious family
7. Evidence of embarrassing fully Mormon culture...language, tardiness, music, dress standards, FHE
8. Relatives or at least friends in high places
9. An LDS Track record: Mission, temple marriage, etc.
10.Absolutely no hint of being a real person with real problems
11.the ability to sound incredibly sincere and to bring tears to your eyes almost at will
The Mormon Middle class may have some of the traits of Mormon Royalty, but are marred with such horrible defects as:
1. Witnessed drinking cola in public
2. Rooted for the University of Utah over BYU
3. Once received Church welfare or worse still public welfare
4. Stayed home to watch the Superbowl instead of attending Church meeting
5. Wife works outside the home
6. Kids don't attend seminary
7. Too many non member friends
8. Failure in a church calling
9. Unglamorous employment (factory worker, tradesman, sales clerk, etc.)
10.Convert of less than 10 years
11.Loud laughter
Then of course we have the fringe element, the poor bastards that everyone else can look down on thank God that they are so much better than the they are. The following are some qualifying traits:
1. Low economic status regardless of reason
2. Lack of formal education
3. Too much formal education coupled with independent thinking thus qualifying as a hated intellectual
3. Facial hair, unconventional hair cut, or the dreaded tattoo
4. A foreign accent
5. any hint of homosexuality
6. Mormon Fundamentalist views or sympathies
7. Read the SL Tribune instead of Deseret News
8. Non traditional modes of dress, men with ear rings or women with piercing in nose, eyelid, etc.
9. Buy lottery tickets
10.Question authority or ask embarrassing questions in a church class
It's interesting that as you move around that you can be perceived and categorized differently but there is almost no chance of any elevation if you stay in one place.
Royalty usually serve as Stake Presidents, Relief Society Presidents, Bishops, etc. The Middle Class are the ward clerks and Primary teachers, while the fringe are entrusted with such Holy responsibilities as Ushering. Occasionally a sincere Church leader experiments with calling persons to positions above their class level and usually discover that they do just fine. However, the royalty types are generally very uncomfortable with the practice so it is seldom resorted to by those in authority.
Well if your Honda dealer is jumping up and down about illegal immigration and how it should end, I’d take my business elsewhere.
Doesnt this guy ever learn?
DECEMBER ONE YEAR AGO: 2006 Mitts SANCTUARY MANSION
For about eight years, Rosales said, he worked on and off landscaping the grounds at Romneys home, occasionally getting a buenos dias from Romney or a drink of water from his wife, Ann.
She is very nice, said Rosales, 49.
About 6 miles away in Copado, a 37-year-old man who recently returned to Guatemala from the United States told a similar story, describing long days tending Romneys 2 1/2-acre grounds.
They wanted that house to look really nice, said the worker, who asked to remain anonymous. It took a long time.
As Governor Mitt Romney explores a presidential bid, he has grown outspoken in his criticism of illegal immigration. But, for a decade, the governor has used a landscaping company that relies heavily on workers like these, illegal Guatemalan immigrants, to maintain the grounds surrounding his pink Colonial house on Marsh Street in Belmont.
The Globe recently interviewed four current and former employees of Community Lawn Service with a Heart, the tiny Chelsea-based company that provides upkeep of Romneys property. All but one said they were in the United States illegally.
The employees told the Globe that company owner Ricardo Saenz never asked them to provide documents showing their immigration status and knew they were illegal immigrants.
He never asked for papers, said Rosales, who said he had paid smugglers about $5,000 to take him across the US-Mexican border and settled in Chelsea.
The workers said they were paid in cash at $9 to $10 an hour and sometimes worked 11-hour days.
Romney never inquired about their status, they said.
In addition to maintaining the governors property, they also tended to the lawn at the house owned by Romneys son, Taggart, less than a mile away on the same winding street.
Asked by a reporter yesterday about his use of Community Lawn Service with a Heart, Romney, who was hosting the Republican Governors Association conference in Miami, said, Aw, geez, and walked away.
Myth Romney - all style; zero substance.
Why are so vehement about this? First, I have a lawn service because we are on a hill and they have very expensive mowers and won’t fall over, we pay $50/week to mow and trim. I have never asked any of them if they are illegal. Two, the guy that owns the service is an American, a retired Marine and I love him and his family so I don’t give a crap who he hires because the money I pay is going to his company and making his family happy. Three, if I was living in a mansion I would have a lawn service and pool service and a maid or two and if I knew who the owner of the company was and approve of that company I would go for it.
Four, you are being naive to think that the Boston Globe does not have an agenda- they do, they always have and that is why they are a dying company and the Boston Herald is alive and well. The Globe hates Republicans and especially conservatives.
That is the irony. Also the irony is I am glad it took an illegal to show Romney for who he is. There is a good chance this very illegal will be responsible for dashing Romney’s chance of becoming president. Probably one of the most honorable jobs this illegal has ever done.
“Of course the company is legal. Is it my responsiblity to address each employee if they are legal workers?”
I would advise it if want the conservative, anti illegal immigration base, to choose you from the other candidates.
They're not, so whats your point? You're allegation is that Romney and the rich should know the status of the employees of the companies they hire and I'm simply pointing out its not their responsibility...........
Yea, right............Sheesh!!
So I start with the supermarket and walk thru asking its foreign looking workers for their cards, then I proceed to the landscaping company cutting my grass and ask the workers if they have their cards, then I go back to my car dealer asking if its service bay workers have their cards, then I ask the carwash manager if his foreign workers have their cards then I stop in to my deli and ask the manager if his hispanic looking worker has his card.............
I don't know if you were being sarcastic or not but if not, then you................
Sorry but you are mistaken about that. If you are the man, then you da man!
Sanctuary Mansions all over again.
Gotta hate it...
Why? Because he’s a lying hypocrite just like the rest of the political ruling class. A pox on all their houses.
You don’t even begin to make sense.
This is about Mitt who is running for President, who is so against illegal immigration, yet he employs them, even after he was caught employing them last year.
Try all you want to change the subject to your freakin Honda dealer, I don’t care.
It doesn’t change the facts.
