Clinton County Chair In Iowa Is Asked To Step Down After Sending Anti-Muslim E-mail

A county chair for Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign has been caught sending an e-mail casting aspersions on Sen. Barack Obama's religion, and today, the Clinton campaign asked the person, a volunteer, to leave the campaign.

A Dodd supporter in Iowa wrote about the e-mails on the Daily Kos site, and the Clinton campaign.

The ever vigilant Clinton web guru Peter Daou emailed a response:

There is no place in our campaign, or any campaign, for this kind of politics. A volunteer county coordinator made the mistake of forwarding an outrageous and offensive chain e-mail. This was wholly unauthorized and we were totally unaware of it. Let me be clear: No one should be engaging in this. We are asking this volunteer county coordinator to step down and are making it clear to every person involved in our campaign that this will not be tolerated.

It’s a shot across the bow saying “We didn’t initiate this” which immediately makes me think they did.

“..as long as they respect the Constitution and the principles of individual liberty, personal responsibility, and limited government which it embodies.”

That definitely leaves Islam out.

“I don’t care if someone is a Hare Krishna, Buddhist, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or a disciple of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, as long as they respect the Constitution and the principles of individual liberty, personal responsibility, and limited government which it embodies”

How do you separate the two things?
Our nation was founded by Christians on Christian ideals.
We were not to have an official state sanctioned religion (particular brand of Christianity), but it was assumed that we were a Christian based nation.

It’s the Constitution and the oath to support it which matters, not someone’s individual religious beliefs. That’s something that the Framers and Founders made very clear - “...no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”

“Islam and democracy the way we know it cannot co-exist.”

What is there to know about Islam? Just read the Koran and be convinced that Islam, under any form, will always be the enemy of democracy.

“no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.””

I agree with that.
But there are certain religious beliefs that are in oppostion to the ideals of our nation.
And certain ones that support our nations ideals of freedom, liberty, etc.

I will personally look at those issues when I support or do not support a candidate.
And I think that every other voter needs to look at that also.

Well then you had better hope it is one of the peaceful muslims you vote for, cause if it is not you might get your head chopped off.

Isn't that what I just said?

No one in this country is forced to acknowledge the divinity of Jesus or any of His words or deeds.

“..but it was assumed that we were a Christian based nation.”

The Founding Fathers in the 18th had this in mind, but America-haters in the 20th century changed all that. We are now a multicultural nation where Christianity has to be eradicated. Today’s slogan is ‘Anything but Christianity’.

I haven’t seen any Democrats (or even RINOs) making any campaign speeches about personal liberties or freedoms. They all speak of pooling resources for the greater good.

The liberty to have an abortion is like the liberty to own a slave. The woman’s body ends at the umbellical cord. When there are 2 or more embryos, they are different beings, not the same being (even when they are fused together). If there is a liberty to abuse your own child, then the “right” to an abortion is a personal liberty. But it does impose on the rights of another to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The Left believes in a right to plot sedition against the government. They never were outspoken against wiretapping the mob, just international terrorists engaged in an international call. They didn’t mind the McDermott tpe of Newt’s personal phone call with his attorney.

They believe in a liberty to engage in certain sexual practices. Others are still prohibited by law, the Supreme Court didn’t approve all acts between consenting adults in private and it DID approve the same formerly illegal acts for “consenting” minors and even in indoctrinating school children into echoing that this is “normal” activity.

Other than that, I don’t know what freedoms they ever speak of.

Wow. Protesting about Muslim slurs AND identifying Obama as one when he says he isn’t. Getting to have cake and eat it too.

Bingo. Go to the head of the class.

I think so too. It's actually kind of clever. They are, "shocked, shocked I tell you", that anyone would call into question his religion (while reminding everyone that he might be a Muslim).

Jefferson said it was basically no concern of his what God his neighbor believed in - “it neither picks my pocket or breaks my bone.” Something like that anyway.

How much more does America have to see, before they realize - nothing changes with the Clintons, it’s all sleaze all the time, whether it’s taking dirty money from the likes of Norman Hse, James Riaddy, planting questions in an audience, hiring detectives to dig up 1st grade teachers, sending out slimey emails through campaign staff

These people are garbage, under all that Bill’s “charisma” and Hillary’s rehearsed speeches, simply human garbage.

I don’t care what he, or anyone, says; I think Obama is a CLOSET MUSLIM.

But, then, tolerant America is surely ready for a Muslim President; huh?

Totally unaware....That sounds soooo familiar.

Considering her latest remark about Obama and his early history....Was the dip totally unaware of what SHE said?? Or her famous "Muslim Gas Station" JOKE?
