If Fred by chance did have a 2007 Tennessee deer tag, would the press not slay him for going hunting, the lazy SOB, when he should be in New Hampshire campaigning for President, the lazy SOB.

Yep. It all goes back to John F’n Kerry and that moronic “Can I get me a huntin’ license here” episode. John F’n established the test that having a hunting license is a bona fide test for support of the 2A. CNN bought the story then, and they are buying it still.
But, as hard as I look, I have never seen any mention of ducks in the US Constitution.

Looking at all the activity in Fred's life in the last few years, much less the last few months, ist's a wonder he gets a chance to do much of anything outdoorsy with wife, kids, acting, working for the President.
I have never hunted, and have not owned a handgun in about twenty years.
It matters not to me that Fred doesn’t have a hunting license. He supports gun rights, and becuase he also supports life, he has my vote in the primary.
I haven’t played football in 30 years and so I guess that means I can’t be a football fan.
I am not that excited about his candidacy, but...as long as he doesn’t pull a John Kerry and try to pander to hunters, then he goes up a notch or two for me. (Not because I have anything against hunters...I simply detest pandering)
As everyone says...RKBA is NOT solely about hunting, and dorks like Kerry just don’t understand that.

I don't have a hunting license right now. I'll have to get one before December 11, when I'm going dove hunting. I had one last year though.. . . . add that they can't POSSIBLY be that stupid, they're just trying to attack Thompson any way they can. But they seem to think the voters in SC are stupid. . . they can't alienate gun owners this way because of course gun owners know all this.Most folks don't get their license until they know they're going . . . unless they're lucky enough to be able to hunt deer in the back yard.
And of course all the target shooters (small and large bore rifle as well as pistol), combat pistoleros, Cowboy Action shooters, skeet and trap shooters, sporting clays shooters, metallic silhouette shooters, and plinkers -- as well as the folks who just have a shotgun or pistol around for home defense -- don't need a hunting license at all.
CNN just really hasn't got a clue. There must not be a conservative or a gun owner in the place to fill them in.
Ditto that. I hunted when I was young (pre-teen and teen years). Got the urge out my system completely (though I certainly will NEVER criticize those folks who still hunt--different folks/different strokes).
I own guns for protection of self and property, and to target shoot.
