II. REQUIREMENTS = Democrats = California

There are two methods by which a person may have his or her name placed on the ballot as a presidential candidate in the February 5, 2008, Presidential Primary Election:

• by the Secretary of State as a generally-recognized candidate, or • by circulating nomination petitions.

A. GENERALLY-RECOGNIZED CANDIDATES

1. The Secretary of State announces the names of individuals she has determined to be generally advocated for or recognized throughout the United States or California as actively seeking the nomination of the Democratic Party for President. § 60411

Criteria for determining "generally-recognized" candidates include, but are not limited to:

a. Being generally recognized as seeking and advocated for the office
b. Qualifying for federal matching funds
c. Appearing in public opinion polls, candidates' forums, debates, etc.
d. Being on the ballot in other states' primaries
e. Actively campaigning in California
f. Having a campaign office in California
g. The Secretary of State may also rely on advice and input from the state party chair.

2. The Secretary of State will publicly announce this determination by December 4, 2007 (E-63). § 6041

3. Following this announcement, the Secretary of State may add presidential candidates to the selection until December 7, 2007 (E-60), but may not delete any candidate unless the candidate withdraws in accordance with the provisions of Elections Code § 6042. § 6041

4. The last day a selected candidate may withdraw from the list of recognized candidates is December 7, 2007 (E-60). §§ 6042, 6043

As Americans, Will You accept the Challenge to Care?

As Democrats, Will You accept the Challenge to make important changes in the Democrat Party?

California is one of the largest and most important states in the election of the President, and yet it does not even have a Democratic "Favorite Son" Candidate. The current Democratic candidates may be faltering even before the primaries. The Democratic campaign is boring. As Democrats, we should have one or several candidates request to be on the ballot. It is better to have a couple or several candidates get their names on the ballot. As California Democrats, we would then have another six weeks to possibly choose to support one preferred candidate.

Two initial suggestions are CA Lt. Governor John Garamendi. Another suggestion is Victor Davis Hanson from Selma, California, who is a conservative Democrat. His syndicated columns appear in newspapers across the nation every Sunday.

Another possibility is going with an interested Democrat from Hollywood. In Hollywood, we can find Democrats who are have executive experience and are very interested in the political process.

Interested mid or lower-level Democrat leaders in local government may not be accepted, but it wouldn't hurt to make their request to the Sec. of State.

CA Lt. Governor John Garamendi would be an ideal Democratic "Favorite Son" Candidate for President. His resume of service in government exceeds that of the three leading national Democrats. His charisma matches or exceeds any of the current candiates for President, including Democrats and Republicans!

Someone needs to tell the Hollywood Democrats to stop sending their money to the current Democrat Presidential candidates, - and to FIND their own Hollywood Candidate! How about someone with Executive Experience. How about:

“Opie in ‘08” = Ron Howard for President 2008

That would put some excitement into the Presidential campaign. =   (Hollywood Pics - below)

If Democrats are unable to find new leaders and candidates for the CA Presidential Primary (or in other states primaries), then we can begin to work toward the `second' California Primary in June.

  * The Search for Suitable Democrat Candidates for the California Presidential Primary:

Need to find new candidates - ASAP!

Where  is  a  Democrat  leader,   who  will  accept  from  the  conservative  Democrats

"The Challenge to Change".

Are You the Democrat Leader who wants to work for important change in the Democrat Party, and in America?

  "Talent Search" -

When looking for candidates to high office, you look for experience to match the office, to meet the job... etc..

However, if prominent Democrat leaders won't respond, we need to look to local government. (more...)

Two are being suggested here who have the good character we need, and who have been active in the political process with the local and state Democratic Party.

this Democrat campaign is "Boring". A fresh face and someone new in the campaign would sure be nice.

Someone needs to tell the Hollywood stars and executives to stop sending their money to the current Democrat Presidential candidates, - and to FIND their own Hollywood Candidate! Someone with Executive Experience. My favorite would be:

“Opie in ‘08” = Ron Howard for President 2008!
That would put some excitement into the Presidential campaign.

      Ron Howard

        Rob Reiner

Others: Bill Cosby, = still young enough...? Bill Cosby had some good things to say back in 2004.

        Will Smith

In the last couple of years, I thought I heard that actor Will Smith made a comment about wanting to run for President, - someday. If that's true - Will, we need new candidates now!

I heard recently that Paris Hilton will be angling the new president whoever it may be for an Ambassadorship ala Shirley Temple and Angelina Jolie. Think of it. She might be ideal to be the breakthrough diplomat that could open doors to Iran!
