Election 2008: Michigan Republican Primary, Huckabee 21% Romney 20% Giuliani 19%

Mike Huckabee’s surging campaign has created a three-way toss-up in Michigan’s Republican Primary. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds Huckabee earning 21% of the vote. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, the son of a former Michigan Governor, attracts 20% support while former New York City Mayor is the top choice for 19% of Likely Republican Primary Voters.

Trailing the Michigan frontrunners are Fred Thompson at 9%, John McCain at 8% and Ron Paul at 7%. Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter split 2% while 15% are not sure how they will vote. Michigan’s primary is scheduled for January 15, twelve days after the Iowa caucuses and a week after the New Hampshire Primary. Results from those earlier contests may have a significant impact on the Michigan results.

Currently, Huckabee has a slight edge over Romney in Iowa while Romney has the advantage in New Hampshire. Huckabee leads in South Carolina. Rasmussen Reports, the first firm to show Huckabee leading in Iowa, will be polling again in that state next week. In national polls, Huckabee and Giuliani are on top.

In Michigan, 37% of Likely Republican Primary Voters name the economy as the top voting issue. Twenty percent (20%) say immigration is the top priority while 17% say that the War on Terror is most important. Among those who name the economy as their highest priority, there is little differentiation between the leading candidates—21% prefer Giuliani, 20% favor Romney, and 15% support Huckabee.

As in other states, Huckabee leads all candidates among Evangelical Christians. In Michigan, he attracts 37% of the Evangelical vote. Giuliani is second among these voters with 16% support. Romney attracts just 6% of Evangelical Primary voters, less support than McCain or Thompson.

You Huckabee clowns just don't get it. Your candidate is being exploited by the media.

Furthermore, if Huckabee is nominated, not only will he NOT win over the independents and fiscal conservatives, the same MSM that's hyping him up is going to turn on him like a snake.

Somewhere in America, right now, Hillary Clinton is smiling.

For all you Huckabubba supporters, in a general election, Huckabubba is going to make Hillary Clinton look like the Iron Lady. Looks as if she'll be getting the national security vote.

The mantra of the Huckster/Mittwitt/Rudy supporter when they hear the facts about the impending disaster their candidacy will inspire in November 2008 --->

Yep, that’s my Michigan. 3 Rino’s in the lead. Home of Granholm, Levin, Stabenow, Conyers, Dingell and the mom and son team of the Kilpatricks. Who’s surprised?

So in other words by not voting on general election day you will be casting your vote by default for the Hildabeast.

I hate to ask this but, Are you Huckabee supporters stupid, or what? This man has no chance of being elected. The Democrats want him to be their opponent because they'll cream him in the election.

There are just three of our nominees who can surely beat the Dems. Mitt, Rudy or Fred. Take your pick, I don't care. But please, not Huckabee. Remember 1996 and that "great" candidate we had, Bob Dole? We'll, I'm afraid that history may repeat.

I just posted the most blistering, I mean smoking, article about Huckabee and his fine hero, murderer and rapist, Wayne DuMond.

Two more women were raped and killed because of this Huckabee action and more details about this case should spell the end of Huckabee.

I’m surprised McCain doesn’t attempt that stunt he and his supporters pulled back in 2000 when all those busloads of Black Detroiters flooded the GOP primary to vote for him (with, of course, no intention of voting GOP in the general) and carrying the state for him over legitimate GOP voters.

Yeah, these folks are in serious denial. You look at Huckabee and I don’t see any grassroots support or money coming into his campaign. You mean to tell me someone who barely raises a million dollars in the 3Q is suddenly a front-runner?

My non-vote for Huckabee or Rudy doesn't equate into support for the Queen.

The fact of the matter is that both of these clowns will split the GOP, where one faction of the party stays home or vote 3rd party depending on who's nominated.

Nope. With Huckabubba as the candidate, Hillzilla will only have to point to his history of amnesty-granting and sentence-commuting to prove what a eunuch he is. In fact, Huckabubba's simpering lisps will make Hillary's now unpleasant sounding shrieks look merely like the articulate self-expression of a strong, decisive woman. Against Huckabubba, Hillzilla will easily get the independent national security vote.

Me: “So in other words by not voting on general election day you will be casting your vote by default for the Hildabeast.”

You: “My non-vote for Huckabee or Rudy doesn’t equate into support for the Queen.”

Then enjoy eight more years of the Clinton mafia in the white house.
