‘Blowback’ on the CIA
The Toledo Blade ^ | 12-15-2007 | Jack Kelly

Posted on 12/16/2007 9:34:16 AM PST by AliVeritas

“BLOWBACK” is an intelligence term for adverse, unintended consequences of secret operations. The CIA first used it in a report on the 1953 operation that overthrew the government of Mohammed Mossadegh in Iran.

Some in the intelligence community have been working with liberal journalists and Democrats on Capitol Hill to embarrass President Bush and to stymie his foreign policy initiatives.

The most successful of these covert operations was the Valerie Plame affair, in which White House officials were falsely blamed for “outing” a CIA undercover officer who was not in fact undercover. (It was then Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage who inadvertently disclosed Ms. Plame’s identity.)

Sen. Moynihan was probably right ... Time to disband the CIA.

Even the notoriously dovish International Atomic Energy Agency thought the NIE went too far. “To be frank, we are more skeptical,” a senior U.N. official told the New York Times.

You should know you're in trouble when the IAEA moves to the right of you.

Wow! Excellent piece.
Of course, you can throw the communist State Department into the mix of anti-American insurgents as well.

Do you suppose this is a double-cross by Gen. Hayden? Give the Dems a sniff of something bad at CIA, then allow them to “investigate”, where they may uncover that the people at the center of the controversy are the very traitors who’ve been undermining the Administration? We can only hope...

Hans Blix, former UN nuclear watchdog, said in Jerusalem Post, 12-5, that the NIE report was a political cover-your-ass exercise:

[Blix said the US agencies likely acted because they heard “all the rhetoric of World War III - and either we have the Iranian bomb or we have the bombing of Iran.”]

[The report on Iran followed an inaccurate 2002 assessment by US intelligence of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction program.]

[”The intelligence services got a lot of blame for the invasion of Iraq that they had exaggerated what they saw ,” Blix said. “This time they do not want to carry the responsibility.”]

Its wrose than that. Porter oss actually maneuvered several of these traitors into resigning a few years back, and after he left the Administration allowed the same careerists back into their old jobs.

Its not clear - to me - whether the Administration is guided by “turn the other cheek” principles or is just plain stupid.

That is an excellent suggestion. There should be a litmus test for all government politicians; require them to be “Americans” first.

We need a Joe McCarthy to clean out the traitors from the Dept. of State (runners of the CIA) again.

I wonder if the CIA is really the perpetrator here. I smell the hand of Negroponte on this one......

It’s time to round up some of these traitors and hand them down the sentences that traitors deserve.

These people are worse than spies, they need to made an example of.

Plame and Wilson should, at the very least, be rotting in jail.
