Rudy Giuliani Hospitalized in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI-myFOXstl.com) -- Late Wednesday night, former New York governor and Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani went to Barnes-Jewish hospital after feeling ill.

Giuliani had traveled across Missouri Wednesday by car after mechanical problems on his aircraft left him without a plane for his stumping.

The statement from the Giuliani campaign reads:

"ST. LOUIS - Rudy Giuliani Communications Director Katie Levinson released the following statement this morning:

Earlier today, Mayor Giuliani experienced flu-like symptoms campaigning in Missouri. The symptoms worsened as the day wore on and shortly after taking off from Chesterfield, Missouri for New York the Mayor became uncomfortable enough that our plane returned to the airport in Chesterfield. To be on the safe side, the Mayor consulted with his personal physician in New York and made the decision to go to the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for routine tests.

"The Mayor will spend the night in St. Louis and we will provide another update in the morning."

Who know...it could be something more significant?

Oh, brother. So now he's got influenza, diarrhea AND pneumonia.

No wonder we got problems. Everyone's a hypochondriac.

I dunno. Maybe Mike Huckabee could be summoned to lay hands on Guiliani.

Anyone know which Holiday Inn he's staying at tonight?

You could be right. Maybe he is suffering from acute constipation because he got his panties in a bunch on account of he had to travel across the state by car instead of by aircraft. Poor baby.

I'm almost having sympathy pains for him. I hate it when my private aircraft has mechanical problems.

You couldn’t possibly be from Texas. Every Texan I’ve ever met was polite and had manners.

LOL.

This should get him some points in the polls, at least temporarily. Sympathy goes a long way.

lol....I’m guess you really don’t like the man...? That’s okay, I’m on the fence. I don’t like his politics, but I’m not sure I dislike the man enough to feel anything about him—personally.

LOL! That explains why they have no police officers and no jails in Texas. Because everyone is polite and mannericious

And besides, Texans don't go to the hospital because they got the sniffles.

I bet they do if they’ve had cancer, are traveling far from home and their doctor says, “You go to a hospital now!”

And thank you for verifying, once again, that Texans have class.

The stress of campaigning; constantly talking to strangers, always hoping to say the right words, memorizing speeches, eating three times a day at 'Lord-knows where', smiling, shaking hands, kissing babies, arms around the elderly, constantly on the go, the clock is ticking - every second - another appointment, not to mention his compromised immune system - it all has got to take it's toll.

Prayers that he gets some well needed rest in the hospital, and recovers quickly.

Well, it is obvious that it has been a while since you have had a CPR class, because a heart attack can mimic flu like symptoms. It is better to have it checked out to do what we call in the business R/O MI.

I bet they do if they’ve had cancer, are traveling far from home and their doctor says, “You go to a hospital now!”

My wife had breast cancer and she just went to her doctor today for the flu-like symptoms she's been suffering from for the last few days. He prescribed her some anti-biotics and sent her home where I made her some chicken noodle soup and filled up a vaporizer thing with water and eucalyptus oil. She didn't go to no hospital. She just cowgirled up. As a matter of fact, she's been sewing curtains for her fellow teacher all night.

I'm not naive enough to believe that all Texans have class. I can only speak for myself and I got more class than you can shake a stick at.
