We in the main stream media all know that Ron Paul cannot win the presidency because of his extremist views. Given this fact, it is important we don’t allow him the same media coverage as our preferred candidates. It is true that we must give him some coverage, but it is also true that we must adhere to the “Mass Media Ron Paul Rule” when giving him coverage during this campaign season. Generally, the “Mass Media Ron Paul Rule” can be summed up in two words: Marginalize him.

And this is "their" tactic for ANY they do not like! Or anyone who they "feel" has extremist views.

I don’t believe that anyone needs a Media Guide to “attack” Ron Paul. All you have to do is quote him accurately and his supporters go crazy. A local radio station frequently plays excerpts from Ron Paul speeches and interviews. They never fail to get a rash of callers claiming “he didn’t say that” or that he didn’t mean what he said.

I suppose one good thing about wasting all of this time & energy on trashing Ron Paul is that it keeps the rest of you from fighting with each other over whether it’s going to be Fred, Huck, Mitt, Duncan, Rudy, Tom .... That’s going to be really interesting to watch.

I'm flattered that you do research on me. I may be one of the most searched on members of Freerepublic, all at the hands of worried Paultards.

I often throw out garbage from my home, rather than keep it around to spoil everything else. Such is the case when chunking Ron Paul from the other GOP candidates.

Other analogies can be made, such as when you buy a home. There are lots of desirable neighborhoods, but you know damned well which ones you will not buy in. If Ron Paul were a neighborhood, it would be downtown Berkeley CA, which is where the campaign is probably being run now.
