Have to admit that’s a nice looking plane. Question is though does it have a six month half life like all other Chinese products.

Regardless of what country this happens in, is producing something that other countries have been making for 50 years really all that big of an accomplishment?

Don’t swallow any of the parts; they’re likely toxic.

What are those engines? They look like Stubby CF34's.
Way too small for as heavy as that plane will be (It is made in china, after all, and cheap = heavy)
They also look a little low and too close to the wing root.
I won't be flying in one.

I can see the headlines now. New Chinese airplanes recalled after investigators discover that lead was used in the planes construction instead of aluminum.

...the Xiangfeng, or "Flying Phoenix,"...Wow, that's impressive. Even when it crashes and burns it'll be able to rise from the ashes (of it's passengers) and take flight again...

It’s pretty funny that the general manager of the compnay that made the plane is named ZOUMING

My guess: Embraer is going to eat this thing’s lunch. It’ll succeed only because Chinese airlines will be *forced* to buy it, and it will probably be sold very cheap to China-friendly countries and Third World airlines. And don’t you know, the combination of Chinese aircraft (their first attempt, no less) and Third World maintenance will be positively frightening.
Too bad Taiwan’s China Airlines won’t buy any of these. They have an annoying tendency for their 737s to catch fire, you can only imagine what’d happen with this thing!

Home grown?! hahahahahaa
The bought the wings, fusulage, engines and avionics suite from Russia, America and Europe. I personally spent a couple year on this project. Yeah, homegrown Chinese, heh.

After rollout, it promptly fell apart and caught fire.
Kind of looks like they took an MD-80 tail rudder and smacked it on top of their plane.
