I just don’t get where all his money is coming from.

If you could follow that money, you might know why he seems to be such a turd. He may just be damn clever.

I support Ron Paul on domestic issues - but I LOVE WAR.

WAR ROCKS!

Nothin more American than a good WAR.

ANY WAR - ANY TIME - LOVE EM ALL.

the House voted 411-to-2 to condemn ... Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. ... Ron Paul says he believes in the U.S. Constitution and smaller government. Good for him. But those views are cancelled out by his unwillingness to confront the evil of Islamofascism or to even condemn a Holocaust denier. This DISQUALIFIES him to be president of the United States.

That vote means nothing. It does nothing. It results in nothing. So ... why shouldn't the President go along with that with that near-unanimous do-nothing statement by the representatives of the people of this country? If Congress won't declare war when appropriate, then why are they not "disqualified" from their position in Congress? If Congress won't similarly vote to take real action, then why should the President be wasting money maintaining a force where The People don't want it? Awright, as Chief Executive maybe he can send Ahmanutjob a letter of condemnation; that's what Congress voted for - not war.

Looks to me more like RP is simply not playing the stupid (and expensive) games. Ask him if he would execute a war if Congress declared one - THAT is a relevant question.

Do you really think its just for the oil. Do you not see the wisdom of keeping the barbarians off balance and on their heels. Do you think that the Russians or the Chinese wouldn't have tried to influence the Mid East policies more if we werent as powerful as we are. You might believe it over oil, but our enemies believe its for world domination.

I recenty heard some anti american type try to convince the interviewer that Islam was peaceful and even our Mason Founding Fathers had to learn the koran for its philosopy. Uh, no no quite. Its called KNOW THY ENEMY".
Free men have always from time immemorial been trying to keep the barbarians at bay.

Dennis Kucinich is a dangerous left-wing nut job.

Ron Paul is not a left-wing nut job, nor a right-wing nut job, nor a Libertarian nut job.

Ron Paul is simply crazy as bat s**t!

No one loves war, just like no one loves chemotherapy, but sometimes both are necessary to act against a larger problem.

What’s interesting about the resolution is that repeats the so-often-repeated-claim-that-it-must-be-true that Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be nuked or “wiped off the map”. In fact, what he said is more properly translated as “must vanish from the pages of time”, i.e. that the Jewish state should collapse and be replaced with something else, which, while obviously not friendly, is not the threat that everybody “knows” he made because it is repeated in MSM. Ahmadinejad and his spokesturbans have been clarifying what they said since then, and denying that they made a threat, but this is not reported because it doesn’t make such good copy.

Read this for more info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmoud_Ahmadinejad_and_Israel

Apparently the mistranslation originated ironically in Iran’s own PR bureau and spread from there. I’ll bet nobody on FR even knows about this because everything they have read from Dick “he’s threatened to nuke Israel” Cheney on down has repeated the mantra.

Paul might actually be aware of this and out of principle did not support a resolution that was based primarily on a lie.

Sanctions did nothing. Sanctions rarely, if ever, work.
Threat of war - real, full-scale, faster-than-we-toppled-Saddam war - is what gave Iran pause (IF they have paused).

I don’t put much trust in what the public is told about how intelligence and diplomacy play out; they’re the kind of thing that thrives on public deception, where the real actions occur in murmured tones in quiet hallways.

The question for Paul is: what are his principles for declaring and pursuing war?
The question for you is: what is wrong with those principles? (address them at face value, not in light of emotionally-charged circumstances.)

I think you should note where the source of this claim comes from, the IRIB- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IRIB
Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting

Why Links Are Broken!!!! Read!!

I am sick of people not understanding why we post broken links!

We do this so they can’t track where we are coming from. If they see a couple hundred people voting from this site for Ron in 30min, it makes us look bad.

Please understand the internet!

You missed the point—IRIB was the original source of the mistranslation, which then took on a life of its own, and is now considered to be “truth”.

Gee, you’re right! Congress HASN’T declared war against Iran!

But what does that have to do with anything? I think you have your Ron Paul talking points mixed up.

Or, rather than stretch to find reasons to disbelieve, we might suppose that (seeing as how Iran has many excellent English speakers, due to its past engagement with the West), the translation was exactly what the Iranian government meant to say. But it's far better for your political ideology to assume them to be incompetent, so who cares if it is illogical. Talk about straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel...

The biggest problem in the West is that brand of ijjits who refuse to believe what the Islamofascists tell them straight to their face. It's bad enough when liberals refuse to believe the mad Muslims when the say they want us dead (I understand that, because we already know they are "special"... in the educational sense of the word). But when people on the right go through all kinds of mental gymnastics to avoid the plain meaning of the enemy's words...

Jeez!

If he wins the Republican nomination, I’d consider voting for a 3rd party candidate!

I don't think you have anything to worry about. The only way ronpaul will get the nomination is if they're manufacturing ice cubes in Hell and if pigs should somehow inexplicably start sprouting wings.

The Paultards are the only ones who think ronpaul will get the nomination, but they also think the earth is flat and that the US caused 9/11 and stuff like that. ;-)

Deathmonger:

Only thing more frightening than thirty years of “Death to the big Satan” rallies hosted by the now nuclear Revolutionary Islamic Republic of Iran; it’s the uber ignorance of ROnPaul disciples.

In the USA, we’re steeped in a culture of lying politicians and used car salesmen as the norm. But in middle-eastern culture, one only says what one means. When fascists chant Death to America (”The big Satan”) this includes killing our ignorant ROnPaulbots and other useless liberals.

Now step away from the bong and sober up,
OLA
