The Iowa caucuses are within spitting distance now. Once again we find candidates trying to out God each other in the Republican Party. Whoa already! Some of us conservatives are NOT going to fall for that again.

Is Bobby Tall Horse spot on? Myself, I like Huckabee. He's a Christian and I love that. But I just don't think he is as conservative as I would like.

Go Fred! He doesn’t have to wear it on his sleeve. His actions speak so much louder.

You’re right. I don’t question if Huck is a Christian but I do question if he’s a conservative.

The question is not now nor has it ever been, who is the true conservative. The question is who can unite our party and lead it to victory in a tough political environment.

I am confident of the ability of the conservative base to hold our party close to conservative principles.

Huckabee, Thompson, McCain, have demonstrated little ability to unite this party. Giuliani has demonstrated some, but Romney has demonstrated the most stamina, conservative principles, and coalition building skills.

Gov. Huckabee must be a threat to the status quo, for the overlords have sent the trolls flying to conservative websites with their canned criticisms

Huckabee is a pro-life lefty. And he’d get creamed in the general by any Dem.

They are all good candidates!

It should not be a matter of who is the MOST Christian or who is the MOST conservative, but who will be the best president and work tirelessly to harness a bloated, runaway government, and toward peace in America and throughout the world.

I pray they all are steeped in Christian values. The dems have no candidate close, I think we have several who have a shot at getting the job done.

Oh BS. The Huckster is Mr. Status quo. He's a liberal RINO pro-amnesty, killer paroling big government nanny stater.

Being against abortion doesn't make the rest of his horrible package go away.

Romney has also shown that he is very capable of telling fibs whenever it suits him, and flip flopping on virtually every issue

I am not favoring Huckabee, but we need to get off that ad. The message was good - on target. This ad criticism is petty and belittling of persons who do so. The other candidates would do well to emulate it IMHO.

Knowing that the race is already lost to the Democrats, it would appear to me that Huckabee is the perfect Republican loser candidate. Someone who after defeat can be rallied around to build consensus for a real candidate for 2012. With his Fundamentalist background Huckabee will be a much better loser-martyr then Bob Dole ever was. Congratulations go out to the Republicans who knowing they were beat picked the best candidate to garner sympathy in the future. I can hear him now “they hate me because I love god.” Bravo!

If a politician doesn’t tell fibs, then he/she is no politician.

it goes with the territory

"Many conservatives love to see the Christian aspect of politics. Hey, I'm guilty. I want a man/woman who believes in God to be sitting in the highest office of this land. But, I want that along with major conservative values as well."

"... When digging into the core of Mike Huckabee's governing practices conservatives should be on alert."

You are another identity voter, eh?

I am sorry; but I have had so many problems with Born Again Christians; I run as fast as I can the other way. I know some of them have truly converted; but the ones I know and have done business with have not. Two auto mechanics; one which stole from the trunk of my car and the other who did nothing to my car and messed up my car horn. A housecleaner who not only did not clean my house; but since her’s was so close she went home and cleaned hers on my dime. Also was on the cellphone constantly. A dog breeder I know who professes to be a person of God; but has the most hatefilled website I have ever seen. Also cons people. I could go on; but the list is pretty long.

Now, you would think I would run across atleast one in business who really converted; but so far have not. To be fair; there are the usual dime a dozens who screw you just to screw you.

The cross ad is fine. Great. Terrific. Beautiful. Charming.

LYING ABOUT USING THE CROSS shows me what the Huckster is at his core: A LIAR who will use anything, including the cross, and then LIE about it.

If a former preacher will lie about the cross, what won't he lie about?

... conservative principles...riiiiiiight. He's a conservative. He's from Massachusetts and did what to taxes, guns, abortion, legal reform, illegal aliens, education reform and socialized health care while he was in office?

I think he should run with Gov. Rick "nice hair" Perry. They've got great hair, they act conservative and become liberals after elected. It's a really neat trick.

I'll let Hillary or Obama win if a RINO gets nominated. It's easier to fight an enemy in front of you than one to your side with his arm around your neck and a knife in your back.

What happened the last time a Clinton was in office? We won almost all the state legislatures, the Congress, the Senate, got welfare reform and married men got to tell there wives that bl#w jobs aren't really counted as sex at work. Neat!

If patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel, his first flirtation is usually with religion. Ever notice that the children of cops are usually criminals and the children of preachers are usually sinners, maybe it is because they see behind the facade of their father. Huckster is a Shuckster.

I think being born-again is sometimes attractive to a certain sort, those who know there is no other redemption for their past, and certainly none for the future they intend to live. But it is OK, because GOD forgives them, and they are better than you.

The Huckster buys into this garbage so much that if you are a murderer with blood up to your elbows all you have to do is ‘find Jesus’ and the Huckster will let you go. I am sure he ‘knows’ that Jesus forgives his son for hanging a dog also, so no need for any legal remedy, Jesus has already forgiven. Someone has to tell Huckabee the same thing George Clooney’s character told the ‘soggy bottom boys’ in “O Brother Where Art Thou” after their baptism. ‘God may have forgiven you, but the Man still wants a piece of you.”
