“It was a Minneapolis SWAT team that had barged into the home unannounced. Such raids are common in the government’s war on drugs and guns. And with increasing frequency, police kick down the wrong door. Just as they did last week in Minneapolis.”

Prohibition requires a Constitutional Amendment; see the 18th Amendment, ratified in 1919. Congress has declared War upon some drugs, so this is much worse than Prohibition in so many various ways.

It didn't? Where did no knock raids come from? Why did that practice start? The perp they were looking for, based on the word of his girlfriend, a police informant (now probably in the witness protection program), was hitting her, was a gang member and probably had guns in the basement.

To me, this chick sounds psycho already. She pals up to the biggest, toughest gangs around, first with a gangbanger, then with the cops. She tells big daddy (cops) that another boy (gangbanger) is hurting her. She manipulates one guy to attack another guy. This is like high school folks.

Now, what to gangs form around? Mostly, it's the drug business. Now these guys aren't geniuses, how can they compete with Procter & Gamble in the drug business? They can't. First have the government prohibit some drugs, then leave it up to the most brutal to compete for the illegal business. Voila, you end up with Al Capone or MS-13 or this particular gangbanging lowlife. They can't compete with P&G in drugs, but they sure can compete in violence. And THAT's the history of prohibitions. Prohibitions of anything, there's nothing special about drugs that causes this violence. After WWII, the German's banned coffee, cigarettes and other luxury goods and ended up with the same gang violence.

Jeesh, man, it's basic economics.

Great scenario for a movie: Cops trip motion sensor in the yard activating flashing red warning lights in the house. Family immediately sets about lighting candles all over the house. When swat team gathers at the doors to the house, Dad presses panic button which activates an electric Holly high performance automotive fuel pump that directs gasoline from the container in the garage through paint spray nossels positioned over each door. Team, now soaked with gas, sees candles inside, Team leader screams “FOR GOD SAKES HOLD YOUR FIRE!”, Team retreats. No one killed, cops embarrassed.

"Now, what to gangs form around? Mostly, it's the drug business."

So? This wasn't about drugs. It was about a violent gangbanger with guns in the house.

Look. I know you're all excited about no-knocks and wrong houses and drugs. Just be patient and I'm sure that within the next month or two someone will post an article concerning all three (and, we can only hope, a gunned-down dog).

THEN you can get all indignant and self-righteous. Until then, cool your jets.

“Hmmmmmmm, makes me wonder! There are some ex in-laws I hate; maybe...”

LOL!!

I expect we’ll be reading that headline any day now. All it’s going to take is someone getting PO’d at you because your dog pooped on their grass and they’ll be picking up the phone. I know you’re half-joking and I’d be lying if I said that the very same thought hadn’t crossed my mind, too. In fact, I have a mental list that grows daily.

Unfortunately, innocent people will get killed and taxpayers will continue to be burdened by the LEO’s Big Brother tactics and overzealous attacks on citizens.

This is why they want to disarm American Vets and anyone who ever took a Valium for stress. We must defeat the Hillary-Democrat-RINOS (fill in the blank) at all cost. If the Dems or RINOS get control of the White House, we will see the biggest gun-grab since Hitler’s gang in the early 30’s.

Two policemen were saved by bulletproof vests and helmets, and Mr. Khang, Ms. Moua and their children, possessing no body armor, happened to be curled in the right places to avoid the return gunfire.

Not surprising to see you defending the officers firing blindly. Please be aware that boot polish is a carcinogen.

A woman who had previously served as a police informant told police her boyfriend, whom she alleged was a gang member, had threatened her at the address. She believed there were guns in the basement.

This is worse than absurd. This is The Twilight Zone gone mad. Hudson v. Michigan (04-1360) appears to be the exception to the Fourth Amendment.

“Yep. That stuff will go through walls and everything, killing your own children as they lie in their beds.

Ah, wait. You don’t have kids I bet. OK. That stuff will go through walls and everything, killing your neighbor’s children as they lie in their beds.”

A 22LR will go through walls. Any cartridge that is an effective man stopper will go through multiple walls.

If you look at the odds of an innocent person being hurt in a legitimate self-defense shooting if the homeowner does not shoot (a very high percentage considering someone would not shoot otherwise), versus the chance of a bullet going through walls and hitting an innocent person (so small as to be close to zero), the odds say you should load up on hard-hitting ammo.

Real AP ammo is almost non-existant anyway. 30-cal black-tip is only sold as a component bullet, so you would have to load it yourself, and to penetrate class IV armor you would have to load it into at least a 30 Win Mag.

“so you would have to load it yourself, and to penetrate class IV armor you would have to load it into at least a 30 Win Mag.”

This isn’t true at all. At the powder-burn distances we’re talking about if you pushed that AP bullet to 2700fps it would take 3 cops length wise to stop one.

Nah. I'm defending homeowners firing A/P rounds indiscriminately. It makes for a livelier neighborhood and gets everyone involved.

This had nothing whatsoever to do with drugs.

It has everything to do with drug prohibition. Ronald Reagan approved of no-knock warrants specifically to aid the WoSDs.

Usually you just stretch things beyond recognition. This time you're outright lying.

If they followed protocol, it was; Shoot the dog; tase them; cuff the perps; scare crap outta kids; trash the joint; leave in a huff without showing warrant.

I simply cannot believe you forgot the "taser part"
