...He's releasing a "campaign" video for Christmas that suits his political and movie character style perfectly...We don't even see the tall guy from Tennessee at all...Thompson's effort stands out in its simple eloquence and contrast from the other candidates' obvious Christmas ad wars that desperately -- but, oh, so politely -- want to plug the candidates and their families...

This isnt a Christmas ad, but it is an appropriate ad for the season and this thread, 30 seconds of gratitude from 2003.

It’s too bad this hasn’t shown on any TV screens. It was by far the best candidate Christmas message, and would have been nice to see compared to the commericals of the others.
You buy them from the Fred Store. Try one of the Fred Packs. I got the FredHead pack.

Merry Christmas!
Very classy. And quite telling. The other candidates’ ads essentially boiled down to “Look at me,me,me,ME!” Fred’s message was “Look at them.”
A candidate who’s not a narcissist. How refreshing.
I don’t see any “Better FRED than dead” hats.
Re: FRed signs...
No guarantee, but... call your county Republican organization and ask who is the local Thompson coordinator. That person, assuming there is one, will be able to get you signs, etc.
Please let's not fall into line with the MSM, the politicians and even the generals by by-passing our troops who are under daily attack in Afghanistan - most particularly, the isolated hell-hole of the Kunar Province in north eastern Afghanistan - aka "Taliban Central" =
Take a look at these links on the web site of the 173rd Paratroopers and remember this little band, now - aside from the all-but-hushed-up fighting - out in the open in one of the bitterest, most dangerous winter environments in the world - the mountains of the Hindu Kish. (I saw a documentary on TV last night about a small band of Marines that were there 3 years ago. They followed the unit through 3 weeks there and were pointing how terrible the fighting was - they had been through 3 firefignts in 3 weeks!
Now it's 2007 = guess what the average number of firefights - and the SAME set up scenarios - were THIS summer for the soldiers there? Try 2-3 average PER DAY for just their first 6 months.
They need our prayers - and to know they are not forgotten or shoved aside with the Iraq stories overshadowing them at a rate of about 1-100.
Link to the 173rd's web site = what's going on -

there's two links - one to the short video clips and one to the current issue of VAnity Fair mag. (Jan) now on stands. For the videos - scroll down to
"Go behind the front lines in Afghanistan"
and for the article:
Into the Valley of Death
Keep these incredible Paratroopers of Battle companies 173rd Airborne in your prayers. They are in the heaviest fighting - both from the enemy and the harsh terrain - since the first week of the war.
Are you contacting local groups? If not, try contacting your local Republican committee - and get the contacts?
I was too... Military is to be commended for their sacrifices.
???
My grandson is "out there" and I approve Fred's message
So glad you pinged this.....that’s an “ad” I can certainly support!
I just watched it and it brought a tear to my eyes. Don’t need to say anymore.
GREEEAAT.
(Bet that frosts her devil-spawn husband - that is a match I just cannot reconcile)
Have you also noticed Mary Matalin is an Advisor to Fred?
NO!!!!!!! COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I met her a few times, I like her.
Not one word was said in this add..Yet it said everything.
