Alan Keyes supports slave reparations.

He will get my vote when Hell freezes over.

I was a Keyes supporter even after the fiasco in Maryland, but after Illinois, I’m fully cured.

Keyes has shown he’s just in it for the money. He’s probably laughing at you because you haven’t caught on yet.

Want a Black? There are at least 3 others that would at least try to put on a credible campaign. Go look up one of them (Steele, Cain, Watts)

How heartening for the Paultards, now that Alan has thrown his hat in, Ron is no longer in last place.

Alan Keyes is little more than a loudmouth and an annoyance to the REAL conservative candidates (i.e. those who don't support group guilt a la slave reparations). There is no way Keyes will ever get my support.

Let me tell you about my experiences with Alan Keyes.

Oh, I have been with him.

* I was there when he debated Dershowitz(sp?) at F & M College in Lancaster, PA. Now that was fun.
*I was there when he spoke with the Freepers in DC.
*I was there as a photo journalist when he received the man of the year award from the American Legion (it might have been the VFW, I forget) in DC. In fact I still have the pictures to prove it. I did a nice article on him for a local newspaper.
* Finally, I was his Pennsylvania State coordinator during his run for president. I traveled all over the state with those brochures at great expense.

To this day I have never got a Thank You from him.

No more Keyes for me.

EV, as a political director for Ambassador Keyes, I have a very frank question for you. As you know, we have several highly qualified and very Conservative candidates, such as Thompson and Hunter. Thompson, for example, in many national polls is within striking distance of the RINOs; Huck, Rudy, Mitt. Why/How would Keyes entering the race do anything besides split maybe 1-2% of the vote away from the Conservative candidates who stand a real chance of displacing RINOs. Keyes, would only attract strong Conservative voters, which means that independents, moderates, and pop-culture voters would easily have Rudy or his ilk win.

So, how is Ambassador Keyes helping us? We’ve been down this road before, Ambassador Keyes has run again and again, each time does he expect different results?

I honestly respect Ambassador Keyes and greatly enjoy each and every opportunity for him to speak, but I feel this is a bad move. I would much rather Ambassador Keyes get behind one of the Conservative candidates and help bring even a 1-2% margin to help put them over the top of the RINOs. Heck, if I may play to his ego, working with a campaign, possibly as a spokesperson, he could draw more attention to that campaign and bring far more people over, to say Thompson’s camp, than would vote for him (Keyes).

Just some things to chew on.

Nice guy and a good message. The plain fact is the guy is unelectable for any public job.

Sir, I remember Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was my governor for eight years and my president for another eight years. Ronald Reagan was able to translate his commitment to conservative principle into electoral success.

Sir, Alan Keyes is no Ronald Reagan.

Keyes - Thompson?

Keyes - Hunter?

Keyes - Giuliani?

Who would have a shot at being chosen to run with Keyes if he got the nomination?

Does Alan Keyes support expanding the Federal government’s reach to cover murder? If not, why would the following claim be relevant: “States’ rights do NOT trump unalienable rights!” If so, how is he a conservative in Reagan’s image?

My ancestors were some of the strongest abolitionists in the nation, both on the home front and marching off to shed blood and give their lives. Can I get income-tax exemption too?

Alan Keyes is my choice too. I was annoyed at the media coverage of this inspiring man: the media made him the Invisible Man. Unwilling to utter the words “First Black President”, they paid no attention to this passionate speaker.

Along comes Barack and the media are all parroting the words “First Black President”.

Obviously the media did not want a conservative Catholic with principles and who actually followed what he believes in.

EV, I can no longer support Alan Keyes. Here is why.

You and I met face to face at a Keyes event at Elmhurst College during his 2000 run. That night I gave a donation by check. His Campaign workers made a typo when they recorded that donation. That in itself is not a big deal. However, His Campaign sold that Donor List to a number of other groups. Now, over 7 years later, I am still getting junk mail with that same unique typo in the name.

If I make a donation to a Campaign, I do expect to get mailings from that Campaign. But NOT from a myriad of whackjobs I never heard of. My privacy is important to me. I cannot support or respect anyone who has proven he has no respect for my privacy.

There is one advantage for Alan Keyes to run for President- he doesn’t have to move to the United States to run. But I digress. He’s lost several elections in his lifetime. Why does he feel the need to lose yet another one?

Just the same, EV, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Did you know the last time he was running he said the first thing he would do as President was to take back the Panama Canal by force from the Chinese. Do you still want him for President?
