So glad they gave women the vote.

You would love these polls if your guy was doing better.

Perhaps. If I had a “guy” in this thing—unless you count the fact that I’ve gone by process of elimination with Giuliani and McCain. And it isn’t really directed at any candidate in particular, the constant polling before a single vote has been cast is what bothers me.

Romney: Because lunch at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is more important than stopping liberal pro-criminal judicial appointees.

I guess you could say Joe Isuzu Romney literally killed to have one of their steaks.

This was more important to Romney than this...

Brian and Beverly Mauck (RIP).

I will always vote principal and honesty over party politics. I will always vote conservative though!

Sounds to me like you did neither...

"IMHO, there are some surprises coming."

Bill Kristol likes Dick Cheney.

Then there's Newt.

Fred/Newt? Dick/Fred? Nope that doesn't sound good. Fred/Dick?

“Is it down to Mitt vs. Mike for GOP?”

A lot of people would like to boil this down to a Mormon vs Christian race, but I would just be happy that we’d have a choice between two governors (experience) against what the dhims will put up, a Senator.

Leaving aside who is or is not a conservative for a second, that is a battle that the GOP can win.

“McCain will be the nominee”

May God have mercy on our nation, and may our children forgive us.

It’s not down to any one yet. Truth is we can’t say “not a vote has been cast yet” because New Hampshire has early voting and it started before the McCain surge.

But it’s not down to anyone yet. The most you can do is evaluate probabilities on the basis of objective numerical data. Polls and money. That’s all we objectively have.

Based on those parameters, Romney’s odds are best, though not overwhelming and maybe not even 50/50. Second most probable would appear to be a toss up between McCain and Huckabee. Guilliani a strong third most probable. Thompson less probable. Hunter even less probable. Paul and Keyes barely registering odds.

Absolutely.

Romney’s credentials are second to none.

I remember 2004 about this time; everyone said the winner in Iowa would be Howard Dean with Edwards coming in 2nd Place. I think Dean finished THIRD; didn’t he?

On Tuesday February 5th it will be a Thompson runaway and Governor Hairstyle and The other Dope from Hope will be put out to pasture.

I think McCain is our best chance.

If McCain is our best chance the Republic is finished. I've been voting against Mr. open border, gun grabber lite, for years, I'm too old to change.

I now believe, like it or not, that McCain will be the nominee

For the past week, I have been having the same feeling more often than not.

I’d vote for him. But he’s not my first choice.

McCain would win only if Mitt fails to gain from the soon-to-be flailing Huckabee campaign. McCain wins if Rudy 911 continues to bleed, and the Huckabee voters move over to his side.

"Romney’s liberal credentials are second to none."

That's for damn sure. Soft on crime, pro-gay marriage, big-government nanny-state Socialism, increasing Democrat officeholders, buying "supporters." Can't get much more liberal than that. Now why isn't he running as a Democrat again ?
