My hand is not raised. I like to enjoy mine for a little while after Christmas. There’s a bit of blues the day after Christmas for me and the cheery lights and decorations make me feel better.
Cute dog picture, Billie, and a darling Pledge!
I have lurked a bit over the last two days but have not had time to post much. But I sure enjoy all the pretty things others have posted! Thanks for Warm and Fuzzy Wednesday!

READ: 1 Corinthians 15:1-8
I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you. 1 Corinthians 15:1
Did you ever notice how quickly things get old or outdated?
I thought about this the other day as I taught my class at a Christian college. Theyre on the cutting edge by providing a laptop computer for each student. It wasnt too long ago when it was innovative for a college to have computers for students in the library. Then it was cutting edge to provide them for dorm rooms. But someday even personal laptops will become obsolete as well.
Everything man creates will eventually go out of date. Everything gets old. Everything, that is, but the gospel. The gospel is over 2,000 years old. And though there have been a lot of updated Bible translations, the gospel is still as relevant today as it was when it was written.
The gospel is this: Jesus Christ came to earth, lived a perfect life, gave up His life by being sacrificed on a cross, was buried in a borrowed tomb, and was raised from the dead 3 days later (1 Cor. 15:1-4). Because He took our punishment for sin on Himself, He can forgive our sins and make us children of God if we put our faith and trust in Him (Acts 13:38-39).
Let the greatest story ever told make you brand-newforever. Its the story that never grows old.
I’m the same way-—
Christmas begins for me on the 25th....Old church calendar stuck with me I guess.
But it’s my favorite time....
I get to sit back and enjoy the decorations, the gifts the visits etc.....then I leave my decorations up until at least the first week of January (feast of the Epiphany).
Now is when I find new ornaments, decorations etc. It’s really the best time of the season-— these middle weeks.
Thank you, jaycee. I actually do start taking everything down the day after Christmas. Usually I’m tired of all the glitz and lights and ‘stuff’ all over the house by then. I also wish that I had a huge closet with double doors 8 ft tall right off the living room and could just ‘roll’ the tree into the closet, fully decorated though!
Amen, Mayor. Thank you for daily word.
I agree with you, najida! If no one is here but me, I enjoy turning the lights on in the evening. I will get mine down after the first day of January, I suppose!
**Let the greatest story ever told make you brand-newforever. Its the story that never grows old.**
Amen, Mr. Mayor....I never get tired of the greatest story! “What a Friend we have in Jesus”, All our sins and griefs to bear.”
You probably are a “high energy person”. I used to be but my motor has slowed down a bit. However, my party turned out great, the food was delicious, everyone had so much fun. We laughed a lot and told tales. I don’t even think that anyone has to take back a gift! Another miracle!
We had the newlyweds here with us. They just returned from their honeymoon on Saturday and Christmas was Tuesday. They had to take their honeymoon later because my granddaughter had her finals the Monday before they left. They were married on Dec. 1 and couldn’t go on the honeymoon until the 15th. It didn’t matter as they had their little house ready to move into...they did spend one night in a hotel!
Exactly!
THIS is the 12 days of Christmas, and it seems more natural...you’re happy, relaxed and can actually sit back and enjoy everything.
Amen is right.
Last night I watched the Nativity story, what an excellent portrayal of the night that Christ was born.
My mother in law gave a copy to each family, we had seen it in the theater when it came out but I enjoyed watching it again. People today just don’t realize what Joseph and Mary went through and how and where Christ was born. This movie puts it all into perspective.
Merry Christmas.
We watched it here also, at the end it’s like watching a Nativity scene come to life. It’s really wonderful to see.
I hate I missed that. Was it on the History Channel? They sometimes repeat their programs a few times
I agree it was and is a beautiful scene.
Todays pics just don’t seem to caption it like it really was.
No, not yet at least. Like The Mayor we bought the DVD after seeing it on the big screen last year and watched it in the living room with the family.
Yes, I checked back on the Mayor’s post and finally got the part I missed! Thanks~~~

A great big awwwww~~~
If someone offered me that cat today, I would take it in a New York minute! Its so beautiful!
I can’t believe I missed it! Sounds wonderful!
More like I like to get everything back in its place as soon as possible. :)
But we had a most wonderful Christmas. Am glad yours was and that your 'newlyweds' were able to spend Christmas with you, too. :)
;o)
I am so glad your party was great and the newlyweds could be there!
Thanks, Meg. The cat is beautiful and regal-looking! The white doggie in my ping is my baby - he loves opening presents. :)

Gee, I was glad to know that was your dog. He/she is beautiful and what’s its name.
Nap time is calling me~~~~I may be away for a while! ~~yawn~~
How cute! I loved your pledge, too.
Isn’t that kitty a beauty! My kitty is long haired and pretty,too..a far cry from how she looked when my daughter rescued her..starving. Her face looked like a possum’s then.
My cat owns me..She has taken over my soft new throw...but she has to share.
Good morning, Billie! Very cute graphic of your "Baby Dog". We have four dogs here and they all made out like bandits this Christmas. Doggie toys EVERYWHERE! :-)
My tree(s) and decorations would be coming down today, except my Christmas guests are still here and more are coming tonight. So the decorations will have to stay put until the company clears out. Then they will be coming down pronto. LOL.
Guess what Santa brought me? A brand new sleek, shiny DELL laptop with a docking station! It will take a few days to get it set up and configured and all my files loaded onto it, but I should be back in graphic creating business very soon. I am VERY happy!
My son talked me into installing Vista on it. Since I have all new hardware, there shouldn't be compatibility issues. He says 'service pack I' should be released soon and that will fix many of the little bugs that have popped up since Vistas' release. I am a little concerned about not being able to measure up to the learning curve required to learn a new OS. The older I get, the more resistant to change I have become. But, so far, so good. It looks to be similar to XP, just way more bells and whistles.
Hope my sistahs and all my Finest FRiends had a wonderful Christmas! Now, I need to get back to my company, then I think we will be out hitting the sales in the afternoon. Hoping all the good buys won't be gone by then.
HUGS all around!

WOO HOO!I have Vista and love my laptop..So glad you will be back creating graphics soon!

I hope you and your family had a blessed Christmas, MEG. I'll get back here when I can but don't have any idea when that will be. TTYL!
How exciting that you got a new computer. Hope you continue
liking Vista. If I have to get a new one, that’s what I’ll
have to have, and I will want moral support when it frustrates
me, like it has a friend of mine! LOL!
Happy New Year, MB!!!
Those are beautiful, Megs. No wonder you want to show
something spring-like! (((hugs)))
So far everything is going well with Vista. I am hoping that I will be able to handle the frustrating little things that come up after my son leaves and goes home. While he is here, there isn't any problem. I just holler "HELP, how do I do this???" I sure don't want to have to be calling him constantly when I run into a problem. My husband is running XP on his computers and will be little help. LOL.
Happy NEW YEAR to you, (((((((Luv!))))))).
I love posting flowers.(((Hugs)))
;o)
Thank you, Libertina..Good to “see” you!

I love XP. I don’t know why they had to mess with the
best operating system that they have had. But...progress
happens! LOL!
Have fun with it and with your son’s visit. My son and
family just left and it’s too quiet here! :D
Hee-hee! He sure does!...and sleep....LOTS of sleep!
Always.... lots of sleep!
LOL - I hear that. :)
My tree(s) and decorations would be coming down today, except my Christmas guests are still here and more are coming tonight. So the decorations will have to stay put until the company clears out. Then they will be coming down pronto. LOL.
I knew you decorated early - and also 'undecorated' as early as I do normally. :) It's just I always want to get things back to normal as soon as possible - not to mention, Mr.B is soooooooo ready for his favorite things back on the mantle, etc. :)
My son talked me into installing Vista on it. Since I have all new hardware, there shouldn't be compatibility issues. He says 'service pack I' should be released soon and that will fix many of the little bugs that have popped up since Vistas' release. "Installing" Vista? So you bought it with XP and you're going to partition the drive, I think to have both? See, I didn't realize that Vista had so many compatibility issues either until I started putting my software on it - plus the only version of AOL that would work with Vista would only show compressed graphics, which are ugly and fuzzy. Otherwise, I found Vista to 'look' a lot like XP. I do hope the Service Pack will take care of a lot of the things I hate about Vista though. I think I told you that all of a sudden my XP computer started working like a charm ('after' I bought a new pc with Vista installed), so until Vista makes some more improvements it's just sitting in my cabinet - turned on only about once a week to download any updates that it may need. But one of my biggest complaints (and one that I read on many Vista forums) is that on top of everything else, Vista a HUGE HOG for memory. It has exactly twice the RAM and harddrive my XP has, but XP runs faster with more of my software programs installed than Vista did with fewer of them installed. Sigh! I do hope you like it better than I do.
Santa is tired - most of us know that feeling. LOL
(Will be featuring the state of Washington soon, so hope you'll be looking for it and will share some of the places and things you hold dear to your heart)
We sure do! We had a house full this year....and though it was
wonderful, it’s now a time to breathe a sigh of “ahhhh...it’s over”. :D
We do miss our little Piper Jane, though! The house is too
quiet!
Hello dear Finest Friends..
First dutchess.. thinking of you Sistah & the difficult loss you have had over the Christmas holiday..
Not easy to lose dad ANYTIME.. but over Christmas somehow is a bit more edgy.
LOTS of movie attendance the past couple weeks. I am doing my regular reviews..
Billie, thanks for the delightful thread.. your graphics are always enjoyable
Lori - 4 DOGS??? wow.. Chachi must have had a ball. You are a good hostess to make people’s pets feel welcome. To me that is always important both ways.. for me to have MY HOME be a welcome spot & to KNOW my guys are welcomed elsewhere.
Just a quick comment on decorations coming down..
Mom & I decided we REALLY like the small twinkly lights. I put them (maybe 5 100’ strands) in her area & a few in mine. We are going to keep them up til... well, whenever. The tree will stay up til “whenever” also. It is a small -—— 4 foot -—— natural with pretty decor. We cut it ourself & so it is relatively fresh..
I didn’t do a whole lot of decor as I did NOT entertain here in my home & it was just for me & mom. The few friends who have seen it liked it .. but I do a LOT of holiday decor.. You would NOT believe what I have for Valentine’s day...
Thank you, Meg.....those are lovely flowers! Are they bleeding hearts or that other one?
I think I told you once that I have those Eastern bluebirds, didn’t I? I love them.......I am an equal opportunity “lover of birds”...!!
We will rush spring right on in!
Granddaughter just called and she and “our” new little addition, Addyson will be here in a minute! She was Kelly’s little girl that was in the wedding!
How utterly adorable is that!!!!! A winner!
