This is a very informative discussion by Libertarian Michael Badnarik discussing and explaining the first ten amendments of the U.S. Constitution. Although I consider myself a Constitutionalist/Republican, his speech is well worth the time to listen to.

Enjoy...

How dare you post an article about the constitution by a libertarian!

You should cite “conservatives” like Bork instead. You know, the guy who doesn’t think the 2nd amendment is about the RKBA, and who called the 9th amendment a meaningless inkblot.

1. The State shall not abridge the right of each sovereign individual to toke on the occasional joint.

2. The State shall not infringe upon the right of sovereign individuals to own private roads.

3. The State shall not abridge the right of each sovereign individual to own a stack of nudie books at least waist-high.

4. The State shall not abridge the right of each sovereign individual to shoot anyone who comes onto his or her land at any time and for any reason I see fit.

5. The State shall not abridge the right of each sovereign individual to litter the highways and byways with as many "Ron Paul Revolution" banners as you have the rope and cardstock to make.

6. The State shall not infringe upon the right of each sovereign individual to mint and issue his own currency - especially if it bears Ron Paul's likeness.

I can't remember the other four.

Gaaah, Bork's an idiot. Bork doesn't believe in natural rights - so essentially he thinks we have whatever rights the government allows us to have, when its expedient.

Why Myth Romney supports cite Bork's support of Willard as a good thing is beyond me.

For someone with a quote of “loose lips sink ships” you seem to have a lot of slack jaw.

I do not support the theory of the liberatarian view, but prefer to listen with an open mind, and when something makes sense, I will post it.

Apparently, you did not listen to his part about the second amendment, because had you done so, you would truly see what an idiot you just made of yourself...

I will try and overlook that though.

Right! Anyone who believes in the Constitution must be a neo-nazi who sleeps with Cindy Sheehan and her girl friend and hates the Jews and is really working for George Soros who probably bought the only copy and changed it to suit his communist agenda and blah, blah, blah, ....

Individual human rights are given only by God. Call it a REPUBLIC
Privileges are given by man, Call it a DEMOCRACY
Man can not take rights but, man can take Privileges.
We have a stark difference

According to the fine print added by the Supreme Court and Congress, some of these amendments do not apply under all circumstances and at all times, and require ‘interpretation’
by a third party (the courts) before any kind of enforcement can occur.

See your local federal offices to request compliance information for your local area/problem. . .

Second Amendment

[Meaningless until the Supreme Court tells us what it means.]

Where's the right that says you don't own your own property - that a developer can come along and declare it to fall under imminent domain, as in the case of Kelo vs. New London?

It doesn’t exist except as a notional (and necessary in VERY limited cases) emergency power for the undisputed public good AND need. Possibly the worst decision since Roe v. Wade. It led numerous state governor’s to forswear its invocation. Close second was the Court’s upholding of McCain-Feingold, the outrageous, anti-American gag order designed to perpetuate the political class. It is THE reason I will not support McCain, who is a true hero in my mind (as well as a USNA grad). If he can participate in something that misguided which undermines our country’s most sacred right (it dwarfs the amnesty nonsense), I shudder to think what he can do from the bully pulpit.
