We weren’t talking about “the Arabs.” I wanted to know if you thought U.S. aid to Israel was a “candybag.” So you see no difference between the “candybag” to Israel and the “free candy” to the Arabs?

Foreign aid to any country in the world, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Mexico is all the same, yup even to Israel.

Whining leftist article.
If liberals want nothing to do with Israel it is because they have chosen dhimmitude.

"If George W. Bush were running for president today on his current Mideast policy, he probably would lose the votes of many who have praised him as Israel's best friend ever in the Oval Office."

That's certainly how I feel; between his "two-state" pandering to the "palestinians", his permitting Condi to segregate the Israelis at Annapolis like 1963 Birmingham, and his (and his Administration and Congress') pandering to Mexico and the illegal alien invasion, he alienated me just about as bad as Jimmy Carter some 28 years ago.

I voted for Bush 5 times, twice for Governor and twice for President, One time in a primary .

I now view him as a despicable idiot, for muttering "Islam is a Religion of Peace". Yes, he's better than a Kerrycrat. But he's still a sellout who needs to grow a pair brass cahones and the let B-2's and B-52's roll over Islamic terror havens.

Peculiar how Christian Zionists find the idea of a two-state solution abhorrent; yet find the alternative idea of ethnic cleansing of all of Palestine perfectly acceptable.

They need a state and they ran out of time.

That’s because a Pali state and Israeli-Palestinian “peace” are incompatible with each other, barring the appearance of a Ghandi-type Palestinian leader, the likes of which we’ve never seen before. Anyone representing Fatah or Hamas is certainly not a reasonable nor reliable “peace partner.”

I think that makes perfect sense. Fatah is a terrorist group. The fatal error in the entire process was Bush I's decision to rehabilitate Arafat during the Madrid process rather than take the time to home grow leadership.

What's with this gratuitous slap at Ann Coulter by lumping her with Pat Buchanan?

Don't know the author's political persuasion, but if he's a dem, he'd lump them all together. More important distinction, Pat is in no way a Republican.

Cute attack, but we have a defense treaty with Israel.

With dozens of other countries, but I don't think we have any mutual defence treaty with Israel, just the occasional Presidential statement.

We were cosigners with the 78 Egypt/Israel accord (Camp David Accords) part of that was a defense treaty between the US and Israel.

Any solution will entail ethnic cleansing. The issue is who is cleansed?
The fact is taht there already is an Arab stae on 3/4 of Palestine. It is called Jordan. An addition 4%, housing hundreds of thousands of Arabs is GAza, now under Hamas control.
So what do you want done with East Jerusalem, and the West Bank?

I’m all for establishing a separate Palestinian state. Then, when it is it’s own nation, Israel can formally declare war against it and flatten it into one big parking lot. Two sovereign states then, you know and thus subject to declaration of war against Palestine by Israel at first provocation.

“Any solution will entail ethnic cleansing.”

Any solution other than a two state solution, you mean.

Sure, many Palestinians live in camps in Jordan today because they were kicked out of their homes in Palestine to make way for Israeli settlements. Many of them who lost their homes are Christians who lived in Palestine, dating all the way back to Pentecost.

It’s apparent that the only ethical solution would be to divide the land.

Tabsternager responded Any solution other than a two state solution, you mean.
1. a "Two-state solution" would entail the ethnic cleansing of all Jews from the West Bank, just like Gaza. You know this, so don't lie.
2. You clearly have no intention of reading or learing since you ignored my point that there already is a "two state solution". The Arabs have Jordan which is 75% of Palestine and Gaza which is another 4%.

Sure, many Palestinians live in camps in Jordan today because they were kicked out of their homes in Palestine to make way for Israeli settlements.
That is actually not true. Most Jewish communities in the West Bank and Gaza were built on public land formerly administered by Jordan or Egypt. Most of the rest were built on former Jewish communities that had been expelled in 1948. The exception being Hebron, which was destroyed in 1927.
That a few Jordanian subjects returned to Jordan really does not bother me.

Many of them who lost their homes are Christians who lived in Palestine, dating all the way back to Pentecost.
Your ignorance is astounding.
1. The original Christian-Jews who celebrated Pentecost were largely expelled after 137 CE by the Romans to make way for Greek-Syriana nd Roman settlers. Just like other Jews. It is these settlers who,in a great historical irony, became Christians.
2. I'm sure that your sources conveniently ignore the fact that Israeli Christians are the largest private land owners in Israel, owning more private land than Jews, Muslims, or Druze.
3. It is the Arabs who are expelling or forcing the Arab Christians to leave, despite the attamps of these Christians to take on the identity of their 1400 year long oppressors (Arab Muslims.)
