Churchill's Views on Islam 1899

WINSTON CHURCHILL ON ISLAM - IN 1899!

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries!

Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.

No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome."

Allright, I didn’t need the Google reference... just seemed to me you somehow doubted the veracity of the poster.

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Remember: You can’t believe everything you read, even if Google points at it!

Lucky for us hydrophobic dogs don't blow up buildings.

Lax immigration policies and political correctness over the past generation have removed that defense.

Exactly. Our ancestors assumed that technology would help to make us wiser than our adversaries. And, in some respects, it has, but..... it has also made us complacent. Thanks to our advanced technology, most cannot imagine that our civilization will ever fall. Technology serves as a buffer to the effects of the idiotic—and allows foolishness to flourish. If we lose to militant Islam, it will be due as much to self-inflicted wounds as to antying the enemy does.

Pakistan gave evidence of Churchill’s analysis yesterday. Islam is a systematic barbarism where a lone Muslim can seemingly cast a vote by means of violence that shapes a future of a population. It cannot be remedied by violence as it thrives off violence. It cannot be remedied by democracy as lone Muslims will forever cast their votes by violent means. It can only be remedied by changing the hearts of the people ensnared by the barbaric Islamic religion so they will seek to abandon the hateful religion.

Providence. Nothing has changed from then until now.

Excuse me, it has changed, and we have let it. I believe they may be smarter than those who really think they are enlightened, the liberals of Western culture.

Sad isn’t it? Sad that Western civilization would allow a culture of doom and suppression to darken our doors.

Churchill knew it then, conservatives know it now.

Our only hope is to stop Islam, and its Western enablers, the modern liberals.

The liberal must think he will win. What a joke.

It is too bad that this is true today. In the early middle ages, the Islamic civilization was thriving. However, the fundamentalist have taken over the religion. Here is an article on the Golden Age of Islamic Civilization. At the time, they were more advanced than the Europeans.

No less true a century later.

Only now, they may get The Bomb. And they won't be delivering it by some system that we can shoot down. They'll ship it in disguised as lead contaminated Chinese toys.

Churchill was only twenty-five years old when he wrote that, but he knew what he was talking about. One year earlier he led a cavalry charge at the battle of Omdurman, the greatest victory against Islamic fundamentalism in the nineteenth century.
