Exactly. Our ancestors assumed that technology would help to make us wiser than our adversaries. And, in some respects, it has, but..... it has also made us complacent. It cannot be remedied by violence as it thrives off violence. It cannot be remedied by democracy as lone Muslims will forever cast their votes by violent means. It can only be remedied by changing the hearts of the people ensnared by the barbaric Islamic religion so they will seek to abandon the hateful religion.

It is too bad that this is true today. In the early middle ages, the Islamic civilization was thriving. However, the fundamentalist have taken over the religion. Here is an article on the Golden Age of Islamic Civilization. At the time, they were more advanced than the Europeans.
