Evidence of the eyes. I was in DC last week and there are garden flowers blooming.

I have no knowledge of whether the climate variations I personally see are man made or not, but there seems to be a warming trend most of us can observe first hand.

Doesn’t matter whodunnit. All that I care about is trying to figger out the best actions to take and over what timeline.

Hmmm...people here say the opposite. Farmers used to plant oranges as far as Jacksonville, Florida. Not anymore.

I was referring to Bush’s (possible) conversion.

He’s in DC and they have been seeing hotter summers and milder winters than in the past. Senators and Reps on both sides of the aisle, plus other old DC hands will be telling him.

I have never been impressed with his scientific acumen, and first hand reports probably have a greater impact than they ought.

BTW, not knowing Florida, what’s happening... is it getting to cold or what?

Feels nice to me.

One thing you should watch out for is where they put the official temperature record. I suspect that D.C. is like Tampa and is showing at least a 5 degree F higher temp than normal. This is due to the fact of where they place the official thermometer. Usually at an Airport(lots of concrete and near air conditioning or heater vent. I’m not kidding!

I’ll look for the D.C. temperature record to verify.

The Bush 100 percenters will gladly defend even this, if true.

What I’m referring to is Senator Drivel saying “Every year it’s hotter,” confirmed a week or so later by Congresscritter Dunderhead saying his wife’s petunias are still blooming and she’s very happy about that.

Social stuff, not science stuff. One of the problems with non-science trained folk is that testimonials nearly always trump technical data.

I still don’t understand the Florida oranges stuff.

Nothing to defend because the facts speak for themselves. Bush has not signed Kyoto and he still opposes mandatory caps on carbon emissions. What more do you want?

Bush has not signed Kyoto

Bill Clinton signed the Kyoto Protocol, it was never submitted to the U.S. Senate for ratification. Had nothing to do with Bush.

*sigh*

Bush has not signed the Kyoto protocol during his two terms. Bush pulled the US out of the Kyoto accords in 2001. Bush opposes mandatory carbon caps.

What's your gripe?

figure out what 6to do about it? There is absolutely NOTHING we can do about an entirely natural cyclical warming trend caused by solar flares- this has been happening since the beginning of time and noone ‘did anythign about it’ then either because there was absolutely NOTHING to be done about it- all our efforts aren’t going to amount to a pisshole in the snow in regards to ‘helping’ nature stop somehti9ng that is completely beyond our control- We did NOTHING to cause global warming- nothing! the “Man-Caused Global warming” is an absolutely vile scam aimed at bilking the guillible out of trillions of dollars, and Al Gore is set to make billions as He’s involved in the ‘Carbon Credits’ that will have to be sold to ‘protect our planet’- it’s nothing but a big fat snake oil scam through and through, and the only ones that will benifit from this are those that were ‘smart enough (Read- deceitful enough) to cash in on a natural phenomenon that we have absolutely NO control over, and to play it up as thouigh we ‘can make a difference’ when the point blank fact is that we can NOT.

Burning a tree while paying someone else not to burn one of theirs has got to be the closest thing we’ve ever seen to “burning your candle at both ends.”

What do you think Bush and Gore were doing behind the closed Oval Office doors?

Playing “Monica?”

That’s funny.

Rainfall is overwhelmingly natural and uncontrollable, but we do a lot about that.

Or don’t you carry an umbrella?
Raingutters, drainage ditches, .... need I continue?

We even have the technical knowhow to, to some degree, both prevent and encourage rain.

when you can control solar flares- that which is almost entirely responsible for global warming, and which so completely dominates and overwhelms our measely .03% contribution of ‘greenhouse gases’ (and which is purged continuously naturally), then you let me know- Nature and Solar activity is more than 99% responsible for ANY natural changes including ‘global warming’, and it goes in cycles and is something we absolutely can NOT control- anythign we do would be like an infinitesimal ‘contribution’ in regards to ‘controlling global warming’- and would amouint to nothing more than a piddly pisshole in a snowbank like I said- it would be like taking an eyedropper, and adding one drop to the pacific ocean and thinking that we’ve made a big difference.

Man made global warming is a complete scam and the charlatans running the show know this full well and a preying on the guillible making htem think we are to blame and that we have a chance to affect a cyclical, solar activity inspired natural trend that this old world has suvived for many thousands of years just fine all by it’s self-

P.S- this world has undergone MUCH more severe ‘global warming’ events in the past and survived just fine- including the species we see today which number in the billions- so- again- when someone can show we can control solar activity enough to register more than a silent hiccup on the ‘global warming scale’ then let me know- until then- if someone wants to beleive the hype and scare tactics of charlatans- then whatever but just know htis- those charlatans don’t even beleive their own garbage because they know full well that we aren’t responsible and that there is absolutely NOTHING we can do about a naturally occuring global issue that is out of our control altogether.

The Pres has always said there is no hurry to make these decisions. He might even procrastinate so long he will be home on the farm before anything is done. It’s a politician’s solution.

what point was that? That making and using static objects to divert rainwater somehow = controlling natural solar flares that cause heating?
