Romeny has spent Millions while Huckabee is winning in most polls with barely anything spent. Nobody wants the Republican version of John Kerry (another flip flopper).

I think American Research Group will publish whatever “results” they think will get published and give them publicity.

This from Dec. 26 Iowa poll:

[Dec. 26 (Bloomberg) — Senator Hillary Clinton of New York widened her lead over Democratic rivals in a poll. . . Clinton was supported by 34 percent of the people surveyed by the American Research Group, followed by John Edwards with 20 percent and Barack Obama with 19 percent.]

Drudge led with this (Hillary surging)poll—even though it didn’t mesh with other polls—that day and it’s numbers altered poll averages on sites like real clear politics.

I’m sure Huckabee is slipping but I just don’t trust this ARG outfit.

If the polls continue to be close, winning in IA will come down to who can get the most people to the polls. That requires money and organization, things that Huckabee just doesn't have enough of. The Romney camp has both of these things in spades.

Remember the IA straw poll when Huckabee won amongst the people at the poll but lost in the overall poll because the Romney camp whipped up support at the poll and on the Internet? The Huckabee camp, which apparently wasn't aware of the option to use the Internet to get votes in addition to the votes cast at the poll, was reduced to sputtering about how Romney was "cheating within the rules." You just don't win elections overlooking such things and all indications are that his campaign still hasn't gotten it's act together yet. If it hasn't, Romney wins IA.

You have a good point on the organization factor in Iowa.

Better Mitt-the-Flipper win Iowa than the Huckster.

THis poll is bogus, and ARG is known for being one of the most inaccurate polling organisations around. Wake me up when Rasmussen releases its latest numbers.

They’re BOTH unacceptable—Suckabee and Mr. Man Tan. Romney is backed by GHW Bush and most likely the entire Bush family. Romney’s a CEO, a big business guy who, like GW, will step on and trample us little people. He may even continue SPP/NAU. While all first tiers are CFR members, I wouldn’t be surprised if Thompson removes himself from their membership...and soon. It would be a wise move, and he could bring attention to the fact that all the rest of the first tier are CFRers.

I was under the impression that the majority here at freepers are Fredites...Anyway, Romney’s losing points everytime he opens his mouth. Few people believe him to be a conservative (he’s not despite his insistence to the contrary). I think “flip flopper” is too nice a word for him. How about simply “liar liar”?

Giuliani 13% 14% 6%
Huckabee 28% 23% 23%
Hunter - 2% 2%
Keyes 1% 2% 2%
McCain 20% 17% 11%
Paul 4% 10% 6%
Romney 17% 21% 32%
Tancredo 1% ni ni
Thompson 5% 3% 7%
Undecided 11% 8% 11%

Mitt Romney leads among men with 28%, followed by Mike Huckabee with 23%, John McCain with 11%, and Fred Thompson with 11%. Among women, Romney leads with 37%, followed by Huckabee at 23%, McCain at 11%, and Rudy Giuliani at 9%. 21% of likely Republican caucus participants remain undecided of say they could change their minds before January 3.

What pops out at me is that 37% of the women support Romney. On the other hand, Fred Thompson by extrapolation garners only 3% among the ladies. McCain and Huckabee have equal support between the sexes.

I’m not surprised about Romney’s lead among women. Women like Romney because he has a perfect family background, he and his wife married 38 years, never divorced, 5 kids, etc. All the girls I know say Mitt is cute. This will be an advantage for the GOP if we go against Ms. Klintoon.

The more liberal George P. Bush (President Bush's nephew and his key "hispanic outreach" guy) is on Fred Thompson's campaign staff.

There was a chart in the Seattle Times that listed all the candidates and their positions on things like the economy, taxes, healthcare and the Iraq War. It was pretty good, but my husband pointed out that the last category should have been the WOT, not the Iraq War. He said that is whst is most important to him. The chart was most interesting if you read the positions without looking at the names of the candidates. Abortion was not on the chart because there is very little that a president can do to affect Roe vs. Wade.
