He makes Kerry and Gore look good in comparison.

Delusional comment in the extreme.

McCain can NOT be trusted.

Romney is a moderate masquerading as a conservative, but at least he doesn't take glee in sticking it to us every chance he gets. Between the two, I'd hold my nose and vote for Romney.

But to be honest, both are SO far from my idea of a conservative, I don't know that either would excite me enough to go to the polls, much less take an active role. It would take lots of convincing.

Mitt’s not my choice, not for the obvious mormon issue (I’ll vote for a jewish candidate if they are the most conservative); but because of ideological issues, but if he’s the nominee, we need to work like we never worked before to get him elected, same as we would with the Huckster, Rudy, or McCain. We can’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. For the record, my candidate is Thompson, but a Republican wouldn’t derail a Republican Congressional agenda, and if we take the white house, we’ll almost certainly retake the Senate because more rat seats are at stake in 08 than GOP, and a GOP candidate successfully winning would carry coattails down the ticket.

IOW, our priority should be getting elected, at any price..
We can recover from a RINO, but not a bona fide rat...

Bay is fine....but you aren't going to tell us this isn't a case of her supporting a fellow LDS, are you?

Give us more credit than that.

Another Mormon coming out in support of Romney?

Yep she left Catholicism for the Mormon cult. I was pretty shocked to hear that.

"Why was she with Tom Tancredo first?"

I don't know if that's a serious question or not. If you know anything about the Buchanans, you know they're America-firsters and Tancredo was a perfect fit for them. I myself was a Tancredo supporter as well.

When TT dropped out, that left no one fitting her strict Americanist profile, so she obviously went for her LDS brother. I don't blame her or say there's anything wrong with it - but if you know the Buchanans, you know Romney's very centrist ideology isn't at all consistent with what they espouse.

"Just to take my last bow for the year and give everyone one last chance to flame me: I’m a conservative and Mitt’s my candidate. You folks can all try to define for me who is a conservative and who is not, but I’ll make my own read on that thank you very much. Happy New Year, all!"

-----

Why would I flame you? Unlike most Romney supporters, you aren't here savaging all the other candidates. I'm a Thompson guy. I don't think Romney is a bad person, but I know he isn't a conservative. He'd be better than the Dems, but he's really a Bob Dole/Bush 1 style moderate.

You don't know how badly I'd like to make myself believe he's a conservative. I've tried...the facts just don't support it. And it doesn't help that many of his supporters are here belittling the conservative candidates on a regular basis. That isn't going to make reconcilliation easy, however the primaries go.

At any rate: Happy New Year to you and yours as well!

No, actually, if the nominee of the Republican Party is a Ripon Republican (RINO, Rockefeller Wing) then if a choice exists on the ballot that is Conservative, I will be voting that option.

I voted for an Open Borders GOP Candidate for President and all it got was my country invaded.

I will not do that again.

I will also vote for Conservative GOP members of the House and Senate as well.

Sorry your information was in error.

Romney is not an open borders candidate. Please study his record before you make a decision.
