This is the part of the press conference that has about a snowball's chance in hell of being aired on Fox News.
I know that many here hate Mike Huckabee but I think the common ground we may have is in feeling betrayed by this so-called "fair & balanced" network. After 8 or so years, I have no place for them in my home any longer.
It wouldn't be so bad if this underhanded network at least required their regulars to DISCLOSE their ties and endorsements of specific candidates but NO, they deceive their viwers by passing ofgf their "round tables" as objective experts. In the past year Fox News has engaged in intellectual dishonesty of the most egregious kind and have lowered themselves by utilizing the same underhanded, manipulative psychological tactics as the liberal media.
I am so turned off by the actions of these people that I feel the damage to my perception of them is irreparable. Times are changing.
” Previously I watched Fox News every day. Morning & evening. Now I no longer watch them. They are about as fair & balanced as the Today Show. Perhaps a good bit less.
I have been planning to complain to my cable provider to drop them. “
Ditto. Fox News, football & HGTV has been the only reason we even have cable TV at all. If all of the people who feel the way you and I feel about Fox these days did what you suggested, it would make an impact.
He's both a preacher and a politician. Having said that, I kinda liked the way the Huckster phrased his remarks. They sounded genuine for a change.
If he knew Christ was is he acting like a Pharisee?
He LIES.
He’s a HYPOCRITE.
He’s all about HUMANISM.
No, it’s quite right to question him on this and anything else. I am not the one that determines his salvation but I have every right to question his Pharisaical ways. His talk doesn’t match his walk.
Clinton was "The Man from Hope". Huckabee is "The Sham from Hope".
What "foreign policy experience" did Gov. Ronald Reagan have?
The purpose of Fox News and CNN is not to provide balanced election coverage. Their purpose is to make money. They do that by attracting viewers who will watch the advertisements in between the “news.” So they sensibly spend more time covering the top rated figures, controversy, scandal—the stuff that gets the highest ratings—and ignore boring senators and ex-senators talking policy. It’s business.
“Fair and Balanced” has always been a joke.
No thanks.
I am one of those who has a disdain for Mike Huckabee's candidacy. And just like all politicians, Huckabee is just another panderer who caters to a certain segment of those who like what he's pandering. Which brings us to Fox News. They pander to a particular viewership just as all the other news outlets do. Their programming is designed to attract and maintain viewers so. Businesses with products to sell will see the ratings with each separate program (to include time slot, host, demographic) and they'll purchase advertising time that they feel will increase the likelihood that viewers will purchase their products. Fox then sells advertising time to these businesses and that's how the network earns its revenue. This is the way the "news" is and has always been.
I don't expect anyone who actually supports Huckabee to understand any of this though. But know this: Huckabee understands it...it's one of the reasons the guy has bee successful in politics. He's a packaged product and you a willing consumer of his product and particular packaging. Let's make no mistake, though, there is no room in Huckabee's marketing mix for a limited government and federalism. I'm not in the market for what Huckabee is marketing...their are other substitutes in the market with more appeal.
Go ahead and poison the well for the rest of us because things didn't go your way, if will make you happy and you'll stop you damn whining.
Are you sure you didn't show up on this conservative forum by accident.
To be quite frank, you have come off sounding just like a liberal.
POSTING ALERT TROLL
Who is MrArbitrage123
Are you hiding your ABOUT PAGE?
I reviewed your posts and you are a FOX and Republican hater.
With your joining the FR in May 2007, suspect you are a democratic seminar poster.
Prove us wrong.
That makes them no better than the Communist news network....or CBS, trying to control our elections.
So, am I correct to assume that you are operating under the premise that Huckabee “successfully” ran Arkansas?
You are right. And as I recall Jesus had a lot to say about hypocrites and “Whited Sepulchers”. This is what Huckabee is.
I, for one, very much appreciate Fox News. We are fortunate to have them. They are fair and balanced in my eyes.
I agree about the damaged part. It shows in your post. I read it and said "Now that is one damaged individual".
You sure are easy to damage....just like a liberal.
You have now become a victim, every liberal's dream. Enjoy!
Have you complained about CNN to your cable provider too ? Or MSNBC, or any of the alphabet news. Or PBS, in particular ?
Or are you only complaining about the one that is just the tiniest bit more conservative than the rest ?
To drop your own cable tier or to force your preferences on others? If it's the former, fine. If you really aim to change what others have the choice of watching -- although I know full well that your complaint will be blown off by your cable provider -- I can totally see why you might be a Huckabee supporter. Nanny-staters do, in fact, have a home in today's Republican Party. Quite frankly, it's because of this that I am hoping that a purge within this party happens at some point. The tent we find ourselves in is much too small to have live grenades in it.
