It was too cold for the New Year's baby to show up, but 6 of our 12 patriotic supporters were from the same local American Legion Post.
BELOW: Legionnaires L - R: Glenn (USMC - WWII, Iwo Jima), Halsey (USMC - Korea), Dennis (Army - Korea), Cindy_True_Supporter (Army - 70s), [Mrs] T (Army - early 70s) and Frank (Army - Korea). Lurker Bill and daughter are in back ground. The Legionnaires held the "Happy New Year To Our Troops" signs and got some great responses.
BELOW: Glenn's jacket, a Christmas gift from his family.
Others in attendance were Lurker Bill and daughter, Lurkers Gary and Steve, JoyJoyFromNJ and my self. The moonbats could only scrape up 7.
We also had a patriotic supporter stop by and give us a dozen donuts plus 4 $10 Dunkin Donuts gift certificates. She wrote on the cards: "TO: Patriots, FROM: Grateful Citizens", "Thank You", and "Thank You for Your Commitment to the Cause". Another supporter, stopped at the traffic light, gave us $20. All these gifts will be put to very good use as the cold weather gets colder.
If the locals are reading this thread, Thank You.
If the moonbats are reading this thread, from the great expressionist, BUFORDP, .
BELOW LEFT: Lurker Gary with Lurker Bill in back ground. Gary likes to warm up the cars before they get to our main position by manning our far left flank. BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Steve with Cindy_True_Supporter.
BELOW LEFT: Cindy_True_Supporter. Like the Energizer Bunny, she hogs shows up in a lot of pictures this week. BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Bill looking warmer than it really was. I'm not sure what was up with the guy in the short sleeve shirt in the back ground.
BELOW: JoyJoyFromNJ. Our signs from a wet Walter Reed are drying out behind her. Hmmm, no pics of me this week. I need to talk to the better half about that. But I manned my normal right flank position, smoked some cigars, wore the same warm clothes and red Marine cap, still have my mustache. "Nothing new here, move on".
This coming Saturday is WEEK 104, our . Come on out and join us. We'll be having lunch afterwards. There are only a few Olney mouse pads remaining, so any newbies to Olney, now is the time to join us before they run out.
BELOW:For a good chuckle, we saw this blimp over Greenville, NC, on our way back from visiting our son.
BELOW: For another good chuckle, the moonbats. Newbies Lurker Steve and Legionnaire Dennis both commented on their grumpiness.
FINALLY
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!
REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
But a lot of verbal engagement in Olney is always welcome.
If you live in northern VA and want a short cut to Olney See Post 39 Here. It's an easy 20 minute drive from the American Legion Bridge.
A special Thanks to a FReeper FRiend for enhancing the original plain type directions.

WEATHER UPDATES HERE.
[Mr] & [Mrs] T
I love the Energizer Freepers. Thank you all for doing it.
You should come up to Olney this Saturday. Great time is had by all.
Do you want on the Olney Ping List?
[Mr] T
I believe you earned the ‘energizer FReeper’ tag also. Thank you.
[Mr] T
OUTSTANDING!
God Bless the American Legion!
Semper Fi,

Coming from you, we are humbly grateful. Thank you.
[Mr] T
Semper Fi and thank you for your service.
[Mr] T
Great FReep and so neat to see those local Legionnaires join you. Thank you guys! Awesome group picture. Glen’s jacket is terrific! Looks like a fun time.
Happy New Year!
I am so glad to see you are all there and celebrating a NEW YEAR!
Thank you on behalf of all FREEPERS!
Safe return to Olney is noted.
That’s neener, neener. Not neenier, neenier.
Wed morning bump.
Which Legion Post were they from? (wondering if it’s mine)
Yea, we’ve come a long way from the “Fantastic Four” to almost a dozen each week. And most are locals. In fact, JoyJoyFromNJ was the only ‘tourist’. The next furthest was Rockville.
Our past support from the Virginia FReepers helped hold down the fort till the locals started to come out. Now when the VA FReepers come out, we can occupy 3 corners. So all are still needed.
So keep up the Westminster FReep/GoE Gathering. It takes time to change a routine and for others to start coming out regularly.
[Mr] T
[Mr] T
That’s why you are the “great expressionist”.
[Mr] T
That is great progress in 2 years. We will keep the faith in Westminster and hope that more show up to join us at least 2 Saturdays of each month. Even when there are less of us, we still get the major support from the citizens of Westminster or whomever is driving by. FReep/GOE ROCK!
I LOVE Glenn’s Christmas present!!!! What took his kin folk so long to buy it?
Happy New Year to all the Olney Stalwarts!
Photo was subsequently sent to the a USMC webmaster at Camp Fallujah, Iraq. Your sign has been seen where it counts.
Good job.
