I've never been all that into bumper stickers, but I've been thinking of getting a couple of Thompson stickers.
Anyhow, I drive a FS pickup, and I suspect a lot of FReepers do too. Recently, I saw one of those "wrapped" cars - a vehicle with advertising wrapped all over it. I think it was for an energy drink or something.
I put the two together in my brain. Was wondering if a tailgate-sized political bumper sticker would be cost-effective, especially once we get down to one or two candidates.
The only downside I can find would be the cost, but there are a lot of upsides:
- Conservatives tend to own vehicles with tailgates compared to liberals. Can't fit much copy on the back of a Prius/Pius compared to the tailgate of a F150.
- Tailgates have lots of space for both slogans and some detailed arguments. Can probably fit a much info as a billboard and the audience will be typically be in front of that copy for at least a minute or two.
- While bumper stickers are generally ignored, its difficult to ignore a full-color tailgate if you're the guy behind the pickup.
I'm not in a position to do something like this, but I thought I'd toss the idea out there for consideration. I have a FS Sierra - if someone wants to run with this for Thompson or Hunter, I'd sure be interested in donating the space at the back of my truck.
Ideally, if one of the candidates could put out something like this and we could buy it, I'd sure be interested.
LOL. I knew that picture would show up, just by the title of the thread.
Maybe a tailgate sized magnetic sticker that you could take with you when you parked.
Beware: I put a “I wish I lived in New York, so I could vote against Hillary” sticker on my car. I got rear-ended (bumper bumped) twice in 9 days be women drivers. I took it off and did not seem to have the problem. I don’t know if they were trying to get close enough to read it or what.
Have an F 150 with a cap. Last election, I got a Bush/Cheney lawn sign and put it in the rear window. That way it could piss off the libs here in Md. but was not permanent. FWIW.
Actually my wife has been making that very thing. She rotates between a Thompson 08 sticker and a School Choice sticker that she designed herself.
[1rudeboy wonders if he can use that information to meet women]
She should get an “I’m the NRA and I vote” one too.
I think some largish font phrases documenting some of Shrillery’s feloneous treasonous evils would be worth it.
Though you might need to post a few dobermens in the back of the pickup to protect it . . .
Yep; but not in that sense. She is very capitalist now. LOL
A "market" where the average man with a good job cannot afford the price of an average house without resorting to higly irresponsible financing because every unqualified burger flipper at MacDonalds is being offered a $400,000 mortgage loan that will then be sold to the unsuspecting manager of a mutual fund in your 401K was not "successful".
It was simply fraud that was destroying the American Dream of being able to own a home.
The Credit Bubble lunacy was in full force long before the Democrats took over Congress and had little to do with politics.
I am happy that sane market practices are returning and that my kids will be able to buy a house or two at sane prices with responsible financing as we did.
I never thought of that angle. But then, I’ve been married 25 years.

I was driving through Maryland over the holidays and as I stopped at a traffic light, a fellow pulled up next to me and motioned for me to roll down my window. When I did he proceeded to tell me how he was a Michigan alumni and huge Wolverine fan and he just wanted to say “Thanks!” I then realized that he had seen the AppState sticker on the back of my vehicle.
“Thanks to the Mountaineers because we now have a new head coach!” With that, he wished me a hearty Merry Christmas and drove off.
(Both my son and my money go to ASU.)
I actually have had a few comments and run-ins with many strangers when I wear my ASU gear. Pretty much all good. I have passed a few Michigan fans (wearing their shirts or hats) in the local malls and I usually get a rolling of the eyes as if they are saying, “Aw damn, YOU again!...” ;-)

Socialism has failed every time, FReeper!
About 10 years ago I went bumper sticker crazy on the tailgate of my Chevy pick-up. My 10-12 year old sons loved trying to find new bumper stickers at gun shows and other places.
One time I was driving on I94 in upstate Wisconsin. There was a snowstorm coming in and we were in a real hurry to get to Fargo, ND. I was doing about 70 when the speed limit was 55. We topped a hill to meet a Wisconsin state trooper going the other way. My radar detector went off and I watched in my rear-view mirror as he turned on is lights and did a u-turn across the median. I slowed to 55 as he caught me. He stayed on my bumper (With his lights off) for a full minutte. Then he flipped his lights on and did another u-turn across the median and drove off. It was several days later when I realized that he had spent that minutte reading my bumper stickers. Thanks God, he was a conservative and had mercy on me.
I can’t remember them all:

Ask me about microwaving cats for fun and profit.
But nobody knows what it means.......
Even we Carolina fans are proud as can be with App State’s great football team (especially since we haven’t had one of our own to be proud of in a while). Congratulations.
