“My guess it was generated by the MSM itself.”

I agree. Without proof I would not blame any other candidate. The MSM wants Fred out. They know full well that Hillary or any other DEM does not have a chance against Fred Thompson! GO FRED, All the way to the White House!

Yeah, you’re the kind who would allow gas station owners to gouge the public during the aftermath of a hurricane, because it’s whatever the market will bear.

AMEN! Gouging prevents hoarding. If you have 10,000 gallons of gas and you have 5000 people lined up on the street waiting to buy it, the best way to make sure everyone takes the least amount that they need is to charge $20 a gallon.

People will take only what they need to get them out of town and leave the rest for the people behind them. And after everyone leaves town, then who's going to buy whatever gas you have left in your storage tank? eh?

Supply and demand. It works every time you try it.

So,you are going to rely on the “context” provided by a leftist rag like the Washington Post? I’m sure they want Fred to win as much as the New York Times does.
Did you ever stop to think that he was a new senator with the conservative principles that made him leery of government control over any free market practice—including the bar? My doctor charges too much,do you want government regulation to correct it? Well, then, lets have socialized health care.
Nit-picking proposed trivial legislation on tort reform is all well and good and granted many plaintiff attorneys are sleazy. But curbing excessive punative damages is all that is needed to correct the problem and this can be done without regulating (that ugly liberal word) the actual practice of civil law.
If John Edwards finds an OJ Jury to award millions of dollars in punitive damages to some poor “victim” with an ingrown toenail because her gynocologist neglected to check her below the knee, the appeals process can be streamlined and made efficaious to end such expensive nonsense. You know, like loser pays? Or appeals judges given “you gotta be kidding!” options that negate obviously stupid jury decisions.
No need to force lawyers to be saints—just stop them from using ignorant, racist,or just plain angry juries as their crooked proxies.

Problem with that theory is Fred has plenty of money (although he needs more, sure, they all do).

Raised about $2,000,000 in the last two weeks, in fact.

Amen to all that, P.

Furthermore, while the existing supply is being “gouged,” suppliers near and far are motivated to look for more and more ways to bring in additional supply to get a piece of the action and meet any unmet demand. That additional supply will, of course, help to keep the price from going higher.

Flaglady47 would force the retailers to sell all they have at the pre-hurricane price to the first lucky b*st*rds who make it to the pump, leaving the poor souls at the back of the line high and dry with no hope of getting any gas until her wonderful FEMA shows up to save them. What a country.

"Low on money" is relative, obviously until we see the on hand numbers..my understanding was that he spent a considerable amount of his available money on ads in IA...that's the basis of my assumption. It will take a ton of money to compete up through Super Tuesday, and that's Romney and Giuliani's advantage at this point (until further information available!)

“So,you are going to rely on the “context” provided by a leftist rag like the Washington Post?”

That is Fred’s congressional record, regardless of what rag writes about it. Look it up and look up Fred’s votes. You just don’t want anything negative said about YOUR candidate, while feeling free to claim anyone else with a couple of unpure marks on their voting records, as being RINO’s. Actually, with Mitt Romney, if you look at his actual record in MA on what he vetoed, etc., it is quite conservative, including on matters such as abortion or gay rights. It all depends on whose ox is being gored here. You don’t like it when your favorite is attacked, I don’t like it when you do it to a favorite of mine.

Again, the question is: WHO PLANTED THE FAKE STORY?
1. Romney
2. Huck
3. DNC
Answer:
4. Fox News

You’re so full of it. The retailers sell gas at the same price they were selling it pre-hurricane, without raising the price sky high after it hits. There isn’t going to be any good way of getting gas into an area that’s been hit by a hurricane, and no time to “let the market work”. You are dealing with a disaster, not an all the time in the world situation to let the market fix the situation. How ridiculous. I know what’s been unleashed here. The libertarians are now jumping in and the total free market robber baron mentality types. Don’t feel like arguing with you types as you are hopeless. Discuss your immoral attitudes amongst each other (or maybe amoral would be a better word here). Ayn Rand uber alles.

Then post Fred’s entire congressional record on the subject instead of the “abridged” agenda driven leftist versions provided by the liberal mainstream media on all subjects conservative—then we’ll have a look.
I mean,do you ever consider the source?
You have to prove this negative not me—I know the left lies—do you?.

Do your own research, or are you as lazy as the MSM says Fred is? Get going. You’re the one who wants proof. Go get it.

No,not Fox News! But then, ever since Rupert Murdoch became an American citizen and began sshmoozing (I’m bad at yiddish) with the liberal Hollywood crowd as he takes over more of their media outlets,I do believe he is beginning to suffer from “Stokholm Syndrome.” His Fox News is becoming more media “mainstream” and the great Roger Ailes is becoming more of a nobody.
Even Brit Hume is losing his conservative edge.
I may have to cancel my DIRECTV.

To benefit Rudy Giuliani of course. Fox News identified Thompson as a threat to their candidate from the start, and have been trying to get him out of the race ever since.

Hillary Clinton is Rupert Murdoch’s candidate.
Rudy Giuliani is Roger Ailes’ candidate.

Roger calls the editorial shots, not Rupert.
And the memo went out long ago to sabotage Fred at every chance.
Watch the Fox News hosts and guests up and down the schedule.
Every single one of them displays a special bias against Fred Thompson. Most betray Giuliani leanings, including Sean Hannity.

Where did you hear that? Did FEC reports on candidate fund raising come out? Would like to know. It is great news for Fred if true, and I hope he did raise 2 mil in two weeks!
