Remember, Bush 41 finished third.

Reagan second.

and Clinton was in single digits!

Do not read too much into Iowa. Nothing is disappointing yet.

Everyone, and especially the Romney/McCain/Giuliani/Hunter/Paul contingent, have to face the following cold, hard reality:

There are only three possible outcomes of the next general election:

  1. Some Democrat wins
  2. Huckabee wins
  3. Thompson wins

Those are the only choices the Universe has on offer. Deal with it.

And if YOU are serious about wanting somebody OTHER than Huckabee to contest the election against the Democrats, why don’t you cease and desist spreading FUD about Fred Thompson?

Given how disrespectful Fred’s guys have been lately to Romney supporters, I probably will end up backing someone else if I switched from Romney during the primary season. We’ll see how they act over the next couple of weeks. Because if what I’ve seen so far is reflective of Fred’s type of supporters, then I don’t really know if I want to align with him.

So you bought the Media's attempt to tag Fred....

He needs to stop talking about how he doesn’t have a desire to be president

As I’ve told hundreds of others tonight if not thousands, Fred is “NOT” going anywhere.

Be Blessed!!

As a Romney supporter, if he drops and I feel disrespected by Fred supporters then they can do it alone - at least in the primaries. In the general, I still plan on uniting with any Republican nominee unless that tone continues.

Deal with that.

You know this is an interesting perspective, because as a supporter of Fred Thompson, I have been on the receiving end (and to be fair the giving end as well) of a fair degree of invective and disrespect from Romney supporters. The Hunter supporters have been the worst.

All I can say is that feelings have run hot - on both sides. But you ought to judge each candidate on the basis of their histories, positions, abilities and character. Not their supporters'.

I like Thompson but if Huckabee is doing this well in Iowa, wouldn’t the South be even more for him? I suppose it comes down to smaller VS larger Gov, and we have no shortage of supporters for the latter.

Perhaps you should look at the candidates instead of people on an internet forum. That would be taking your civic duty seriously.
