TALK OF HILLARY EXIT ENGULFS CAMPAIGNS Mon Jan 07 2008 09:46:28 ET

Facing a double-digit defeat in New Hampshire, a sudden collapse in national polls and an expected fund-raising drought, Senator Hillary Clinton is preparing for a tough decision: Does she get out of the race? And when?!

"She can't take multiple double-digit losses in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada," laments one top campaign insider. "If she gets too badly embarrassed, it will really harm her. She doesn't want the Clinton brand to be damaged with back-to-back-to-back defeats."

Meanwhile, Democrat hopeful John Edwards has confided to senior staff that he is staying in the race because Hillary "could soon be out."

Key players in Clinton's inner circle are said to be split. James Carville is urging her to fight it out through at least February and Super Tuesday, where she has a shot at thwarting Barack Obama in a big state. But others close to the former first lady now see no possible road to victory, sources claim.

It is ridiculous to think she would drop out after IA and NH while STILL leading in the delegate counts.

Hillary won't "get out". She's in for the long haul.

This is more titillation put out by the voracious pirannahs in the media.....along the same lines as the flap about Thompson pulling out. The media takes the deliberate lies planted by each candidate's enemies and runs with it, building it up with phony stories that don't even have the ring of truth except by the credulous masses.

It's circle jerks, and everyone is jerking.

The big question is, who planted the story - Misguided Obama staffers, frustrated Clintonistas, A deep plan from the back room to gin up support and gain sympathy?

You are correct!

Obama is a more formidable candidate than Hillary. However, his positions on the issues ( health care, WOT, etc.) make me concerned about his presidency. If Huckabee is the GOP choice, Obama is in for sure. The media will make Huckabee look ridiculous.

..............That part about her running out of money is laughable. Lobbyists and foreign sources are pouring millions into the Clinton foundation. They have millions stashed in off-shore accounts........................

And maybe that’s the point! If she can’t win, she can drop out, and the Witch and Willard can bilk all the contributors, stash the remaining undisclosed cash, and live happily ever after!

At this point, damage to the “Clinton brand” (ugh—that hurt even to write) is unavoidable.

Her Thighness and the Sinkmeister have no clothes. They cannot deliver votes or donors.

Their influence in the Rat party was always dependent upon fear. When they are no longer feared, they will no longer be powerful. They are yesterday. Even Bill will soon stop being cute to them.

Plus, they might finally get the message that in 2008 neither feminazism nor abortion fires up their base like it used to-—somewhat because the succeeding generation doesn’t care much about those issues and somewhat because they take them as mostly settled.

The days of a candidate getting support because she’s female, a feminist and an abortion supporter are waning. The candidate has to offer more.

One thing you can say about Obama is that, unlike most other Rats, he came on the scene unafraid to take on the ‘Toons directly. He called their BS and he’s being rewarded for it politically.

Others will take note.

She will wait for matching funds
Then she’ll take the money and run
...away.

They are already on the government dole, so they can go on about their other businesses. They don’t care about change, they care about dollars.

LOL! As if that would make any difference for the ex Sen. ExLax.

“She also may be in big trouble in New York when she has to run again.”

That’s a good point. If she drops out now and Rudy stays in until Super Tuesday, he could state that he is not someone who cut and ran the moment things got tough. I believe that he will run for the senate when he leaves this campaign.

She doesn't want the Clinton brand to be damaged....

OMG---not to be believed---these people live in an alternate universe. (PS Hope you didn't hurt yourself when you hit the floor).

If anything was proof of Hillary's distorted thinking it was resurrecting Maddy Albright, Terry McAuliffe, and the rest of the Clinton gang. All she needed was Janet Reno to surface.

really weird because even before Iowa I heard some guy predict that she would pull herself out of the race and state it was for health reasons.

My first thought, too. She may be trying to rally her supporters and raise money by alarming them with a possible pull-out. My other thought is that she may believe that there is only room from one presidential candidate from New York and she doesn’t think it will be her!

She will easily win Kalifornia, the People’s Republic of New York, and other heavy delegate blue States (Ohio, Michigan, etc.). She is just trying to portray herself as a “down-trodden/victim woman” in a “man’s world” to garner sympathetic sympathy votes.

I do think he is less dangerous, although that’s not saying much. I also think he will be harder to beat.

In many ways, I find him very inspiring. It’s just when you look underneath and see what his politics truly are that the worry begins.

But I think he’s definitely less dangerous than Hildy. Even just avoiding the Klintoon soap opera will be a big benefit to the country.

I think alot of you underestimate Obamas chances over any republican nominee and over overestimate Hillarys. We had better hope Hill stays in and pulls off a win if we are to see a republican victory in november.
